Removal [09/2018 - 10/2020]: Procedure
- PRECAUTION WARNING:
Be sure to read precaution thoroughly before servicing.
Refer to PRECAUTION [10/2017 - 10/2020]
NOTE:After turning the power switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal notices before proceeding with work.

- REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT MAT SUB-ASSEMBLY
Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 24
- DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE AUXILIARY BATTERY TERMINAL
Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3
WARNING:- Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
- If the airbag deploys for any reason, it may cause a serious accident.
NOTE:When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

- REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH

Use the same procedure for the LH side.

- REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM BOARD RH

Use the same procedure for the LH side.
Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 9
- REMOVE INSTRUMENT SIDE PANEL RH
Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 11
- REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY
Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 12
- REMOVE NO. 2 CONSOLE UPPER PANEL GARNISH

- REMOVE LOWER NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL AIRBAG ASSEMBLY WARNING:
Deployment Side - When storing the lower No. 2 instrument panel airbag assembly, keep the airbag deployment side facing upward.
- If the airbag deploys for any reason, it may cause a serious accident.
- Check that the power switch is off.
- Check that the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.
Remove the 2 bolts.
Place Hands Here Remove in this Direction Place your hand in the position shown in the illustration (A) and pull the lower No. 2 instrument panel airbag assembly toward the rear of the vehicle to detach the claw.
- Place your hand in the gap (B), pull the lower No. 2 instrument panel airbag assembly toward the rear of the vehicle to detach the claw, and then remove the No. 2 lower instrument panel airbag assembly.
- While holding the lower No. 2 instrument panel airbag assembly with one hand, use a thin-bladed screwdriver, release the lock button and disconnect the airbag connector.
*a Lock Button Release in this Direction Protective Tape HINT:
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
