Odo/Trip Switch Malfunction [10/2020 - 11/2021]: Procedure

  1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (ODO/TRIP CHANGE SW) 
    1. Using the Techstream, read the Data List.

      Refer to DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST [10/2020 - 11/2021]

      Body Electrical > Combination Meter > Data List 

      Tester Display Measurement Item Range Normal Condition Diagnostic Note
      ODO/TRIP Change Switch ODO/TRIP switch (Trip switch) OFF/ON OFF: Switch released
      ON: Switch pushed      		 -

      Body Electrical > Combination Meter > Data List 

      Tester Display
      ODO/TRIP Change Switch

      OK

      ODO/TRIP switch condition displayed on the Techstream changes with the actual switch operation.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [10/2020 - 11/2021] 

    Result: 

    NG

  2. INSPECT TRIP SWITCH 
    1. Remove the trip switch.

      Refer to REMOVAL [10/2017 - 10/2023]

    2. Inspect the trip switch.

      Refer to INSPECTION [10/2017 - ]

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE TRIP SWITCH. Refer to  REMOVAL [10/2017 - 10/2023] 

    Result: 

    OK

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY - TRIP SWITCH) 
    1. *1: w/o Advanced Drive
    2. *2: w/ Advanced Drive
    1. Disconnect the G34*1 or G161*2 combination meter assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the G8 trip switch connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      W/O ADVANCED DRIVE

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G34-4 (ODO) - G8-4 (A/B) Always Below 1 Ω
      G34-26 (SW3) - G8-7 (E) Always Below 1 Ω
      G34-4 (ODO) or G8-4 (A/B) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      G34-26 (SW3) or G8-7 (E) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      W/ ADVANCED DRIVE

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G161-13 (ODO) - G8-4 (A/B) Always Below 1 Ω
      G161-28 (SW3) - G8-7 (E) Always Below 1 Ω
      G161-13 (ODO) or G8-4 (A/B) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      G161-28 (SW3) or G8-7 (E) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [10/2020 - 11/2021]
