Inspection [10/2017 - ]: Procedure
- INSPECT TRIP SWITCH (LIGHT CONTROL RHEOSTAT)
- Check the resistance.
*1 Up switch *2 Down switch *a Component without harness connected
(Trip Switch (Light Control Rheostat))- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance
Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition G8-5 (RV) - G8-7 (E) Up switch pressed Below 1 Ω Up switch not pressed 10 kΩ or higher Down switch pressed 1.7 to 1.9 kΩ Down switch not pressed 10 kΩ or higher If the result is not as specified, replace the trip switch (light control rheostat).
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
- Check illumination.
*a Component without harness connected
(Trip Switch (Light Control Rheostat))- Apply auxiliary battery voltage to the trip switch (light control rheostat) and check that it illuminates.

Tester Connection Specified Condition G8-3 (ILL+) - Auxiliary battery positive (+)
G8-8 (ILL-) - Auxiliary battery negative (-)Illuminates If the result is not as specified, replace the trip switch (light control rheostat).
- Apply auxiliary battery voltage to the trip switch (light control rheostat) and check that it illuminates.
- Check the resistance.
