DTC B1570-11: Indicator (Red) Circuit Short to Ground; DTC B1570-13: Indicator (Red) Circuit Open [10/2020 - 10/2022]: Procedure

  1. CHECK DTC 
    1. Turn the engine switch off.
    2. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    3. Turn the engine switch on (IG) and wait for 10 seconds or more.
    4. Turn the Techstream on.
    5. Check for DTCs and check that no DTCs are output.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [10/2020 - 10/2022]

      Body Electrical > Telematics > Trouble Codes 

      OK

      No DTCs are output.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK. Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [10/2020 - 11/2021]  , or refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [11/2021 - 10/2022] 

    Result: 

    NG

  2. INSPECT MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY (MANUAL [SOS] SWITCH) (RED INDICATOR) 
    1. Remove the map light assembly.

      *a Component without harness connected
      (Map Light Assembly [Manual (SOS) Switch])

      Refer to REMOVAL [12/2017 - ]

    2. Connect 2 dry-cell batteries (1.5 V each) in series.
    3. Connect the positive (+) lead to terminal N9-30 (IND1) and the negative (-) lead to terminal N7-22 (GND) of the map light assembly connector.
    4. Check if the illumination for the manual (SOS) switch red indicator comes on.

      OK

      Red indicator comes on.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY (MANUAL [SOS] SWITCH). Refer to  REMOVAL [12/2017 - ] 

    Result: 

    OK

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (DCM (TELEMATICS TRANSCEIVER)] - MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the G163 DCM (telematics transceiver) connector.
    2. Disconnect the N7 and N9 map light assembly connectors.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G163-4 (IND1) - N9-30 (IND1) Always Below 1 Ω
      N7-22 (GND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      G163-4 (IND1) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  4. REPLACE DCM (TELEMATICS TRANSCEIVER) 
    1. Replace the DCM (telematics transceiver).

      Refer to REMOVAL [10/2020 - 10/2022]

      NOTE:
      • The engine switch must be off.
      • Do not exchange the DCM (telematics transceiver) with one from another vehicle.

      Result

    Result:

    PERFORM DCM ACTIVATION. Refer to  DCM ACTIVATION [10/2020 - 10/2022]
