DTC P1366-29: "E" Camshaft Position Actuator Bank 1 Signal Invalid; DTC P1367-29: "E" Camshaft Position Actuator Bank2 Signal Invalid [12/2017 - 10/2020]: Procedure

  1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (CAM TIMING CONTROL MOTOR WITH EDU ASSEMBLY - ECM) 
    1. Disconnect the cam timing control motor with EDU assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the ECM connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      D53-4 (VTM1) - D1-52 (EMD1) Always Below 1 Ω
      D54-4 (VTM1) - D1-42 (EMD2) Always Below 1 Ω
      D53-4 (VTM1) or D1-52 (EMD1) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher
      D54-4 (VTM1) or D1-42 (EMD2) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  2. REPLACE CAM TIMING CONTROL MOTOR WITH EDU ASSEMBLY 
    1. Replace the cam timing control motor with EDU assembly.

      for bank 1: Refer to REMOVAL [12/2017 - 10/2020]

      for bank 2: Refer to REMOVAL [12/2017 - 10/2020]

      HINT: 

      Perform "Inspection After Repair" after replacing the cam timing control motor with EDU assembly.

      Refer to INITIALIZATION [12/2017 - 10/2020]

  3. CLEAR DTC 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Clear the DTCs.

      Powertrain > Engine > Clear DTCs 

    5. Turn the engine switch off and wait for at least 30 seconds.

      Result

      Proceed to

  4. CONFIRM WHETHER MALFUNCTION HAS BEEN SUCCESSFULLY REPAIRED 
    1. Drive the vehicle in accordance with the driving pattern described in Confirmation Driving Pattern.
    2. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine / Trouble Codes.
    3. Read the DTCs.

      Powertrain > Engine > Trouble Codes 

      Result

      DTCs are not output A
      DTC P1366-29 or P1367-29 is output B
