DTC C1436: Yaw Rate Sensor Malfunction [12/2017 - 09/2018]: Procedure
- READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (YAW RATE SENSOR)
- Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
- Turn the engine switch on (IG).
- Select the Data List using the Techstream.
Refer to DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST [12/2017 - 09/2018]
Chassis > ABS/VSC/TRAC > Data List
Tester Display Measurement Item Range Normal Condition Diagnostic Note Yaw Rate Sensor Acceleration sensor (yaw rate sensor) Min.: -128°/s, Max.: 127°/s Vehicle stopped: 0°/s

Tester Display Yaw Rate Sensor Yaw Rate Sensor2 - Check the yaw rate sensor output value displayed on the Techstream.
Result
Result Proceed to NG (The yaw rate sensor output value is 0°/s when the vehicle is stationary, but the value fluctuates when turning.) A NG (The yaw rate sensor output value is not 0°/s when the vehicle is stationary.) B OK C NOTE:Check the yaw rate sensor signal after replacement.
Result:
B
REPLACE YAW RATE SENSOR. Refer to REMOVAL [12/2017 - 09/2018]
Result:
C
USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK. Refer to HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [12/2017 - 09/2018]
Result:
A
See step 2
- CHECK ACCELERATION SENSOR (YAW RATE SENSOR) INSTALLATION
- Turn the engine switch off.
- Check that the acceleration sensor (yaw rate sensor) has been installed properly.
Refer to INSTALLATION [12/2017 - 09/2018]
OK
The sensor is tightened to the specified torque.
The sensor is not installed in a tilted position.
NOTE:Check the yaw rate sensor signal after replacement.
Result
Proceed to OK NG
Result:
OK
REPLACE YAW RATE SENSOR. Refer to REMOVAL [12/2017 - 09/2018]
Result:
NG
INSTALL YAW RATE SENSOR CORRECTLY. Refer to INSTALLATION [12/2017 - 09/2018]
