Operating Light Control Rheostat does not Change Light Brightness [10/2023 - ]: Procedure

1. Using the Techstream, read the Data List.

   Refer to DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST [10/2023 - ]

   Body Electrical > Combination Meter > Data List

   Light control rheostat up or down switch condition displayed on the Techstream changes with the actual switch operation.

OK 

REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [10/2023 - ]

NG

1. Disconnect the G208 combination meter assembly connector.
2. Disconnect the G8 trip switch connector.
3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

   Standard Resistance

   Tester Connection	Condition	Specified Condition
   G208-28 (TR) - G8-5 (RV)	Always	Below 1 Ω
   G208-26 (SW3) - G8-7 (E)	Always	Below 1 Ω
   G208-28 (TR) or G8-5 (RV) - Other terminals and body ground	Always	10 kΩ or higher
   G208-26 (SW3) or G8-7 (E) - Other terminals and body ground	Always	10 kΩ or higher

   Result

   Proceed to
   OK
   NG

REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

1. Remove the trip switch (light control rheostat).

2. Inspect the trip switch (light control rheostat).

   Refer to INSPECTION [12/2017 - ]
