DTC B1321-87: Lost Communication with EMV Missing Message; DTC B1326-87: Lost Communication with Clock Device (Local-CAN) Missing Message [10/2022 - 10/2023]: Procedure

  1. CHECK VEHICLE TYPE 
    1. Check vehicle condition.

  2. CHECK FOR DTC 
    1. Check if meter/gauge system DTCs are output.

      Body Electrical > Combination Meter > Trouble Codes 

    2. Check if audio and visual system DTCs are output.

      Body Electrical > Navigation System > Trouble Codes 

    3. Check if headup display system DTCs are output.

      Body Electrical > Head Up Display > Trouble Codes 

    4. Check for DTCs and output pattern according to the following table.

  3. CHECK FOR CLOCK ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disconnect the G167 clock assembly connector.
    2. Clear the DTCs.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [12/2017 - ]

      Body Electrical > Combination Meter > Clear DTCs 

    3. Check for DTCs.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [12/2017 - ]

      Body Electrical > Combination Meter > Trouble Codes 

      Result

      DTC B1321-87 is output. A
      DTC B1321-87 is not output. B

    REPLACE CLOCK ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [10/2020 - ]

  4. CHECK FOR METER MIRROR SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disconnect the G58 meter mirror sub-assembly connector.
    2. Clear the DTCs.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [12/2017 - ]

      Body Electrical > Combination Meter > Clear DTCs 

    3. Check for DTCs.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [12/2017 - ]

      Body Electrical > Combination Meter > Trouble Codes 

      Result

      DTC B1321-87 is output. A
      DTC B1321-87 is not output. B

    Result:

    REPLACE METER MIRROR SUB-ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [10/2022 - 10/2023]

  5. CHECK CAN WIRE 
    1. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
    2. Disconnect the combination meter assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G34-8 (TX+) - G34-7 (TX-) Cable disconnected from negative (-) battery terminal 108 to 132 Ω
      G34-8 (TX+) - G112-4 (CG) Cable disconnected from negative (-) battery terminal 200 Ω or higher
      G34-7 (TX-) - G112-4 (CG) Cable disconnected from negative (-) battery terminal 200 Ω or higher
      G34-8 (TX+) - G112-16 (BAT) Cable disconnected from negative (-) battery terminal 6 kΩ or higher
      G34-7 (TX-) - G112-16 (BAT) Cable disconnected from negative (-) battery terminal 6 kΩ or higher

      Result

  6. CHECK CAN WIRE 
    1. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
    2. Disconnect the radio receiver assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G186-11 (CNH1) - G186-12 (CNL1) Cable disconnected from negative (-) battery terminal 108 to 132 Ω
      G186-11 (CNH1) - G112-4 (CG) Cable disconnected from negative (-) battery terminal 200 Ω or higher
      G186-12 (CNL1) - G112-4 (CG) Cable disconnected from negative (-) battery terminal 200 Ω or higher
      G186-11 (CNH1) - G112-16 (BAT) Cable disconnected from negative (-) battery terminal 6 kΩ or higher
      G186-12 (CNL1) - G112-16 (BAT) Cable disconnected from negative (-) battery terminal 6 kΩ or higher

  7. CHECK CAN WIRE 
    1. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
    2. Disconnect the combination meter assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G34-8 (TX+) - G34-7 (TX-) Cable disconnected from negative (-) battery terminal 108 to 132 Ω

    REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [10/2020 - 10/2023]

    REPAIR OR REPLACE CAN MAIN WIRE OR CONNECTOR 

  8. CHECK CAN WIRE 
    1. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
    2. Disconnect the clock assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G167-4 (TX+1) - G167-5 (TX-1) Cable disconnected from negative (-) battery terminal 54 to 69 Ω

      Result

      Proceed to

      NG

    Result:

    REPLACE CLOCK ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [10/2020 - ]

    REPAIR OR REPLACE CAN MAIN WIRE OR CONNECTOR 

  9. CHECK FOR DTC 
    1. Check if meter/gauge system DTCs are output.

      Body Electrical > Combination Meter > Trouble Codes 

    2. Check if audio and visual system DTCs are output.

      Body Electrical > Navigation System > Trouble Codes 

    3. Check for DTCs and output pattern according to the following table.

    1. Disconnect the G167 clock assembly connector.
    2. Clear the DTCs.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [12/2017 - ]

      Body Electrical > Combination Meter > Clear DTCs 

    3. Check for DTCs.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [12/2017 - ]

      Body Electrical > Combination Meter > Trouble Codes

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      G34-8 (TX+) - G34-7 (TX-) Cable disconnected from negative (-) battery terminal 108 to 132 Ω

    1. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
    2. Disconnect the combination meter assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G34-8 (TX+) - G34-7 (TX-) Cable disconnected from negative (-) battery terminal 108 to 132 Ω

  14. CHECK CAN WIRE 
    1. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
    2. Disconnect the clock assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G167-4 (TX+1) - G167-5 (TX-1) Cable disconnected from negative (-) battery terminal 54 to 69 Ω
