Inspection [01/2017 - ]: Procedure
- INSPECT LIGHT CONTROL RHEOSTAT (TRIP SWITCH)
- Check the resistance.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance
Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition 5(RV) - 7(E) Up switch pressed Below 1 Ω 5(RV) - 7(E) Up switch not pressed 10 kΩ or higher 5(RV) - 7(E) Down switch pressed 1.7 to 1.8 kΩ 5(RV) - 7(E) Down switch not pressed 10 kΩ or higher *1 Up switch *2 Down switch *a Component without harness connected
(Light Control Rheostat (Trip Switch))If the result is not as specified, replace the light control rheostat (trip switch).
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
- Check illumination.
- Apply auxiliary battery voltage to the light control rheostat (trip switch) and check that it illuminates.

Condition Specified Condition Auxiliary battery positive (+) → Terminal 3 (ILL+)
Auxiliary battery negative (-) → Terminal 8 (ILL-)Illuminates If the result is not as specified, replace the light control rheostat (trip switch).

- Apply auxiliary battery voltage to the light control rheostat (trip switch) and check that it illuminates.
- Check the resistance.
