DTC B163B/86: Side Airbag Sensor Assembly No. 2 Lost Communication (LH); DTC B163C/86: Side Airbag Sensor Assembly No. 2 Initialization Error (LH) [03/2017 - 04/2020]: Description
The side collision sensor LH circuit consists of the airbag ECU assembly, door side airbag sensor LH, side airbag sensor assembly LH and rear airbag sensor LH.
The door side airbag sensor LH, side airbag sensor assembly LH and rear airbag sensor LH detect impacts to the vehicle and send signals to the airbag ECU assembly to determine if the airbags and pretensioners should be deployed.
These DTCs are stored when a malfunction is detected in the side collision sensor LH circuit.
