Removal [04/2020 - 05/2023]: Procedure
- PRECAUTION
Refer to PRECAUTION [03/2017 - ]
- DISCONNECT BRAKE BOOSTER PUMP CONNECTOR
Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2
- REMOVE REAR WHEEL
Refer to REMOVAL [03/2017 - 05/2023]
- REMOVE REAR DISC BRAKE PAD WARNING:
Be careful not to get pinched by the disc brake cylinder assembly or other parts when removing the rear disc brake pads.
NOTE:Be sure to inspect the rear disc when replacing the rear disc brake pads with new ones.
Refer to INSPECTION [03/2017 - 05/2023]
- for RH side:
- Disconnect the pad wear indicator wire connector from the rear speed sensor RH.
- Disconnect the pad wear indicator wire assembly RH from the 4 clamps of the rear wheel bearing dust deflector.
- Disconnect the bleeder plug cap portion of the pad wear indicator wire assembly RH from the rear disc brake bleeder plug.
- While pressing the area labeled A, push the hole pin labeled B toward the rear disc brake cylinder assembly LH, and remove the pin hold clip.
- While pressing the area labeled A, remove the No. 1 anti-rattle spring and 2 hole pins.
- Remove the anti-squeal spring.
Remove the 2 rear disc brake pads from the rear disc brake cylinder assembly LH.
- for RH side:
- Remove the pad wear indicator retainer and pad wear indicator wire assembly RH from the rear disc brake pad
- for RH side:
- REMOVE REAR DISC BRAKE ANTI-SQUEAL SHIM KIT
