DTC C13A4/32: Open or Short in Release Switch Circuit; DTC C13AC/34: Release Switch Circuit [03/2017 - 09/2018]: Procedure

1. Inspect the electric parking brake switch assembly.

   Refer to INSPECTION [03/2017 - ]

   Result

   Proceed to
   OK
   NG

Result: 

NG 

REPLACE ELECTRIC PARKING BRAKE SWITCH ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [03/2017 - ] 

Result: 

OK

1. Turn the engine switch off.
2. Disconnect the P36 electric parking brake switch assembly connector.
3. Disconnect the X67 parking brake ECU assembly connector.
4. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

   Standard Resistance

   Tester Connection	Condition	Specified Condition
   X67-16 (REL1) - P36-8 (RLS1)	Always	Below 5 Ω
   X67-13 (REL2) - P36-9 (RLS2)	Always	Below 5 Ω
   X67-16 (REL1) or P36-8 (RLS1) - Body ground	Always	10 kΩ or higher
   X67-13 (REL2) or P36-9 (RLS2) - Body ground	Always	10 kΩ or higher
   P36-14 (GND1) - Body ground	Always	Below 5 Ω

   Result

   Proceed to
   OK
   NG

REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

Result: 

OK

1. Clear the DTCs.

   Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [03/2017 - 09/2018]

   Chassis > Electric Parking Brake > Clear DTCs 

2. Turn the engine switch off.
3. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
4. Perform a release operation with the electric parking brake switch assembly.

   HINT: 

   When the electric parking brake switch assembly is pulled and held for 1 second or more without being pulled fully to the release side, one of the 2 linked contacts may turn on while the other one turns off causing this DTC to be stored.

5. Check for DTCs.

   Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [03/2017 - 09/2018]

   Chassis > Electric Parking Brake > Trouble Codes
