DTC C1440: Steering Angle Sensor Unusual Bank Angle Detected [09/2018 - ]: Procedure

1. Clear the DTCs.

   Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [09/2018 - ]

   Chassis > ABS/VSC/TRAC > Clear DTCs 

2. Turn the engine switch off.
3. Start the engine.
4. Perform a road test.
5. Check if the same DTC is output.

   Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [09/2018 - ]

   Chassis > ABS/VSC/TRAC > Trouble Codes 

   Result

   Result	Proceed to
   DTC C1440 is output.	A
   DTC C1440 is not output.	B
   yaw rate sensor DTCs are output.	C

1. Clear the DTCs.

   Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [09/2018 - ]

   Chassis > ABS/VSC/TRAC > Clear DTCs 

   HINT: 

   • If the skid control ECU assembly determines that the vehicle is being driven at a steep bank angle, the skid control ECU assembly stores DTC C1440 while VSC operation is temporarily disabled.
   • This is not a malfunction if the system and sensor circuits are normal and if normal VSC operation resumes.
