Both Manual and Automatic Operation of Active Rear Wing does not Operate [03/2017 - ]: Procedure

  1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Customize Setting / Others.
    5. Check that the active rear wing system customize setting "Active Rear Wing Control" is set to "Permission".

      Others

      Active Rear Wing Control Active rear wing system permission/prohibition setting Prohibition 01:Permission, 10:Prohibition Spoiler control ECU assembly

      OK

      The active rear wing system customize setting "Active Rear Wing Control" is set to "Permission".

    Result:

    PERFORM CUSTOMIZE FUNCTION (Change setting to "Permission"). Refer to  CUSTOMIZE PARAMETERS [03/2017 - ] 

    Result: 

    OK

  2. CHECK FOR DTC 
    1. Check for DTCs.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [03/2017 - ]

      Body Electrical > Active Rear Wing > Trouble Codes 

      OK

      DTCs are not output.

      Result

      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    GO TO DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART. Refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [03/2017 - ] 

    Result: 

    OK

  3. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Active Rear Wing / Data List.
    5. Read the Data List according to the display on the Techstream.

      Body Electrical > Active Rear Wing > Data List

    GO TO ELECTRONIC CONTROLLED BRAKE SYSTEM. Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [03/2017 - 09/2018]  , or refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [09/2018 - ]

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SPOILER CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the X79 spoiler control ECU assembly connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      X79-1 (GND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SPOILER CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY POWER SOURCE) 
    1. Disconnect the X79 spoiler control ECU assembly connector.

      (to Spoiler Control ECU Assembly)
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      X79-18 (ECUB) - X79-1 (GND) Always 11 to 14 V
      X79-19 (B) - X79-1 (GND) Always 11 to 14 V
      X79-16 (IG) - X79-1 (GND) Engine switch off Below 1 V
      X79-16 (IG) - X79-1 (GND) Engine switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V

      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

    OK

  6. INSPECT REAR SPOILER MOTOR ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the rear spoiler motor assembly.

      Refer to DISASSEMBLY [03/2017 - ]

    2. Inspect the rear spoiler motor assembly.

      Refer to INSPECTION [03/2017 - ]

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE REAR SPOILER MOTOR ASSEMBLY. Refer to  DISASSEMBLY [03/2017 - ] 

    Result: 

    OK

  7. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SPOILER CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY - REAR SPOILER MOTOR ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      X79-6 (RSM+) - d2-1 (U) Always Below 1 Ω
      X79-6 (RSM+) or d2-1 (U) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      X79-7 (RSM-) - d2-5 (D) Always Below 1 Ω
      X79-7 (RSM-) or d2-5 (D) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to

      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE SPOILER CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [03/2017 - 05/2023]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [05/2023 - ]
