Removal [07/2020 - 05/2023]: Procedure

  1. REMOVE ENGINE WITH TRANSMISSION ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to REMOVAL [07/2020 - 05/2023]

  2. REMOVE AIR FUEL RATIO SENSOR (for Bank 1) 
    1. Disconnect the air fuel ratio sensor connector.

    2. Detach the wire harness clamp.
    3. Using SST, remove the air fuel ratio sensor from the exhaust manifold sub-assembly LH.
      • SST: 09224-00012 
      NOTE:

      If the air fuel ratio sensor has been struck or dropped, replace it.

  3. REMOVE AIR FUEL RATIO SENSOR (for Bank 2) 
    1. Disconnect the air fuel ratio sensor connector.

    2. Detach the wire harness clamp.
    3. Using SST, remove the air fuel ratio sensor from the exhaust manifold sub-assembly RH.
      • SST: 09224-00012 
      NOTE:

      If the air fuel ratio sensor has been struck or dropped, replace it.

  4. REMOVE ENGINE MOUNTING DAMPER 
    1. Remove the bolt and engine mounting damper from the front No. 1 engine mount bracket.

  5. REMOVE NO. 2 EXHAUST MANIFOLD HEAT INSULATOR 
    1. Remove the 3 bolts and No. 2 exhaust manifold heat insulator from the exhaust manifold sub-assembly LH.

  6. REMOVE EXHAUST MANIFOLD SUB-ASSEMBLY LH

      Remove the 8 nuts and exhaust manifold sub-assembly LH from the cylinder head sub-assembly.

  7. REMOVE EXHAUST MANIFOLD TO HEAD GASKET LH 
    1. Remove the exhaust manifold to head gasket LH from the cylinder head sub-assembly.

  8. REMOVE ENGINE OIL LEVEL DIPSTICK GUIDE 
    1. Remove the engine oil level dipstick from the engine oil level dipstick guide.
    2. Remove the bolt and engine oil level dipstick guide.

    3. Remove the O-ring from the engine oil level dipstick guide.
  9. REMOVE NO. 1 EXHAUST MANIFOLD HEAT INSULATOR 
    1. Remove the 3 bolts and No. 1 exhaust manifold heat insulator from the exhaust manifold sub-assembly RH.

  10. REMOVE EXHAUST MANIFOLD SUB-ASSEMBLY RH

      Remove the 8 nuts and exhaust manifold sub-assembly RH from the cylinder head sub-assembly.

  11. REMOVE EXHAUST MANIFOLD TO HEAD GASKET 
    1. Remove the exhaust manifold to head gasket from the cylinder head sub-assembly.
