Removal [07/2020 - ]: Procedure

  1. REMOVE FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to REMOVAL [07/2020 - ]

  2. REMOVE FRONT NO. 1 FLOOR HEAT INSULATOR 
    1. Remove the 6 nuts and front No. 1 floor heat insulator.

  3. REMOVE NO. 2 FUEL TANK PROTECTOR SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the 4 bolts and No. 2 fuel tank protector.

  4. REMOVE PROPELLER WITH CENTER BEARING SHAFT ASSEMBLY 
    1. Put matchmarks on the transmission companion flange and flexible coupling of propeller with center bearing shaft assembly.

    2. Remove the 3 bolts, 3 washers and 3 nuts.
      NOTE:

      The propeller intermediate shaft assembly and flexible coupling should not be disconnected.

    3. Put matchmarks on the rear differential companion flange and flexible coupling of propeller with center bearing shaft assembly.

    4. Remove the 3 bolts, 3 washers and 3 nuts.
      NOTE:

      The propeller shaft assembly and flexible coupling should not be disconnected.

    5. Remove the 2 center No. 1 bearing bolts and 2 washers.

    6. Push the propeller with center bearing shaft assembly straight forward to compress the propeller with center bearing shaft assembly and pull out the propeller with center bearing shaft assembly from the centering pin of the differential.

      NOTE:

      Press the propeller with center bearing shaft assembly straight ahead to keep the transmission and propeller with center bearing shaft assembly aligned straight.

      HINT: 

      If it is difficult to disconnect the flange from the flexible coupling, pry it using a screwdriver.

    7. Pull the propeller with center bearing shaft assembly outward from the vehicle's rear to remove it.
      NOTE:
      • The propeller intermediate shaft assembly and propeller shaft assembly should not be disconnected.
      • When removing the propeller with center bearing shaft assembly, do not press center No. 1 support bearing assembly with excessive force.
