Installation [05/2023 - ]: Procedure

  1. INSTALL FRONT DISC BRAKE ANTI-SQUEAL SHIM KIT 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1

  2. INSTALL PAD WEAR INDICATOR WIRE CLIP (for RH Side) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

  3. INSTALL FRONT DISC BRAKE PAD 
    1. Install the front disc brake pads to the disc brake cylinder assembly LH.

  4. INSTALL FRONT DISC LH 
    1. Check the identification mark to determine the installation side.
      NOTE:

      The front disc needs to be installed to the correct side of the vehicle. There is a "L", indicating the disc for the left wheel, or a "R", indicating the disc for the right wheel, engraved on the disc in the position shown in the illustration.

    2. When reusing the front disc LH:
      1. Align the matchmarks of the front disc LH and front axle hub sub-assembly, and install the front disc LH.

    3. When replacing the front disc LH:
      1. Inspect the front disc runout.

        See step  5

      2. Select the installation position where the front disc has minimal runout, and install the front disc LH.
    4. Using a 5 mm hexagon socket wrench, install the bolt.

      Torque: 20 N*m (204 kgf*cm, 15 ft.*lbf) 

      NOTE:
      • Do not apply excessive force to the bolt and front disc.
      • Confirm that the head of the bolt is not protruding from the surface of the disc.
  5. INSTALL DISC BRAKE CYLINDER ASSEMBLY LH 
    1. Install the disc brake cylinder assembly to the steering knuckle with the 2 bolts.

      Torque: 135 N*m (1377 kgf*cm, 100 ft.*lbf) 

  6. CONNECT FRONT FLEXIBLE HOSE 
    1. Connect the front flexible hose to the disc brake cylinder assembly with a new union bolt and a new gasket.

      Torque: 39.2 N*m (400 kgf*cm, 29 ft.*lbf) 

      NOTE:

      Install the front flexible hose lock securely into the lock hole in the disc brake cylinder assembly.

  7. INSTALL FRONT PAD WEAR INDICATOR WIRE ASSEMBLY RH (for RH Side) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5

  8. CONNECT BRAKE BOOSTER PUMP CONNECTOR 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 6

  9. BLEED BRAKE LINE 

    Refer to BLEEDING [07/2020 - ]

  10. INSTALL FRONT WHEEL 

    Refer to INSTALLATION [05/2023 - ]
