Removal [05/2023 - ]: Procedure

  1. REMOVE FRONT BUMPER COVER 

    Refer to REMOVAL [05/2023 - ]

  2. REMOVE FRONT FENDER REINFORCEMENT TOP SUB-ASSEMBLY LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

  3. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 15

  4. REMOVE HOOD LOCK CONTROL LEVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

      Remove in this Direction(1)
      Remove in this Direction(2)

      Detach the claw in the direction (1) indicated by the arrow shown in the illustration.

    2. Detach the guide in the direction (2) indicated by the arrow shown in the illustration and remove the hood lock control lever sub-assembly.
    3. Detach the clamp and remove the hood lock control lever sub-assembly from the hood lock control cable assembly.

  5. REMOVE HOOD LOCK RELEASE LEVER PROTECTOR 
    1. Detach the harness clamp.

    2. Remove the 2 clips.

    3. Detach the clamp to remove the hood lock release lever protector.
  6. REMOVE HOOD LOCK CONTROL CABLE COVER LH 
    1. Detach the clamp and remove the hood lock control cable cover LH.

  7. REMOVE HOOD LOCK ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disconnect the connector.

      Bolt
      Connector
    2. Remove the 3 bolts and hood lock assembly.
    3. Detach the clamp and disconnect the hood lock control cable assembly and hood lock control assembly to remove the hood lock assembly.

  8. REMOVE HOOD LOCK CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY 
    1. Tie a string to the end of the hood lock control cable assembly.

      HINT: 

      Use a length of string long enough to pass through the engine compartment.

    2. Pull out the hood lock control cable assembly through the wire harness grommet as shown in the illustration.

      HINT: 

      Leave the string inside the grommet.

    3. Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped in protective tape, detach the clamp and remove the grommet and hood lock control cable assembly.

      *2 Grommet
    4. Disconnect the string from the hood lock control cable assembly.
