DTC B1508: Short in Turn Signal / Hazard Flasher Circuit [07/2020 - 05/2023]: Procedure

  1. INSPECT LIGHTS 
    1. Inspect the illumination of each turn signal light.

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      RH side Front turn signal light and side turn signal light does not blink. A
      LH side Front turn signal light and side turn signal light does not blink. B
      RH side rear turn signal light assembly does not blink. C
      LH side rear turn signal light assembly does not blink. D

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (RH SIDE CIRCUIT) 
    1. Disconnect the P26 combination meter assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the D5 front turn signal light assembly RH connector.
    3. Disconnect the R9 and R10 front multiplex network door ECU RH connector.
    4. Disconnect the R6 outer mirror actuator assembly RH connector.
    5. Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      P26-7 (LR) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      D5-1 (B) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      R10-16 (TRN+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      R10-12 (HTR-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      R9-20 (TRNI) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  3. CHECK FRONT TURN SIGNAL LIGHT ASSEMBLY RH 
    1. Disconnect the D5 front turn signal light assembly RH connector.
    2. Clear the DTCs.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [07/2020 - ]

      Body Electrical > Combination Meter > Clear DTCs 

    3. Recheck for DTCs and check that no DTCs are output.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [07/2020 - ]

      Body Electrical > Combination Meter > Trouble Codes 

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      DTC B1508 is output. A
      DTC B1507 is output. B

    Result: 

    B 

    REPLACE FRONT TURN SIGNAL LIGHT ASSEMBLY RH. Refer to  REMOVAL [07/2020 - 05/2023]

  4. CHECK FRONT MULTIPLEX NETWORK DOOR ECU RH 
    1. Remove the front multiplex network door ECU RH.

      Refer to DISASSEMBLY [07/2020 - 05/2023]

    2. Clear the DTCs.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [07/2020 - ]

      Body Electrical > Combination Meter > Clear DTCs 

    3. Recheck for DTCs and check that no DTCs are output.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [07/2020 - ]

      Body Electrical > Combination Meter > Trouble Codes 

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      DTC B1508 is output. A
      DTC B1507 is output. B

    Result: 

    A 

    REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [07/2020 - ]

  5. CHECK SIDE TURN SIGNAL LIGHT ASSEMBLY RH 
    1. Remove the side turn signal light assembly RH.

      Refer to REMOVAL [07/2020 - 05/2023]

    2. Clear the DTCs.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [07/2020 - ]

      Body Electrical > Combination Meter > Clear DTCs 

    3. Recheck for DTCs and check that no DTCs are output.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [07/2020 - ]

      Body Electrical > Combination Meter > Trouble Codes 

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      DTC B1508 is output. A
      DTC B1507 is output. B

    Result: 

    A 

    REPLACE SIDE TURN SIGNAL LIGHT ASSEMBLY RH. Refer to  REMOVAL [07/2020 - 05/2023] 

    Result: 

    B 

    REPLACE OUTER MIRROR ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY RH. Refer to  DISASSEMBLY [07/2020 - 05/2023] 

  6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (LH SIDE CIRCUIT) 
    1. Disconnect the P26 combination meter assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the D6 front turn signal light assembly LH connector.
    3. Disconnect the S9 and S10 front multiplex network door ECU LH connector.
    4. Disconnect the S6 outer mirror actuator assembly LH connector.
    5. Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      P26-13 (LL) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      D6-1 (B) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      S10-16 (TRN+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      S10-12 (HTR-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      S9-20 (TRNI) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  7. CHECK FRONT TURN SIGNAL LIGHT ASSEMBLY LH 
    1. Disconnect the D6 front turn signal light assembly LH connector.
    2. Clear the DTCs.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [07/2020 - ]

      Body Electrical > Combination Meter > Clear DTCs 

    3. Recheck for DTCs and check that no DTCs are output.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [07/2020 - ]

      Body Electrical > Combination Meter > Trouble Codes 

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      DTC B1508 is output. A
      DTC B1507 is output. B

    Result:

    REPLACE FRONT TURN SIGNAL LIGHT ASSEMBLY LH. Refer to  REMOVAL [07/2020 - 05/2023]

  8. CHECK FRONT MULTIPLEX NETWORK DOOR ECU LH 
    1. Remove the front multiplex network door ECU LH.

      Refer to DISASSEMBLY [07/2020 - 05/2023]

    2. Clear the DTCs.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [07/2020 - ]

      Body Electrical > Combination Meter > Clear DTCs 

    3. Recheck for DTCs and check that no DTCs are output.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [07/2020 - ]

      Body Electrical > Combination Meter > Trouble Codes 

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      DTC B1508 is output. A
      DTC B1507 is output. B

    Result: 

    A 

    REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [07/2020 - ]

  9. CHECK SIDE TURN SIGNAL LIGHT ASSEMBLY LH 
    1. Remove the side turn signal light assembly LH.

      Refer to REMOVAL [07/2020 - 05/2023]

    2. Clear the DTCs.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [07/2020 - ]

      Body Electrical > Combination Meter > Clear DTCs 

    3. Recheck for DTCs and check that no DTCs are output.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [07/2020 - ]

      Body Electrical > Combination Meter > Trouble Codes 

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      DTC B1508 is output. A
      DTC B1507 is output. B

    Result: 

    A 

    REPLACE SIDE TURN SIGNAL LIGHT ASSEMBLY LH. Refer to  REMOVAL [07/2020 - 05/2023]

    REPLACE OUTER MIRROR ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY LH. Refer to  DISASSEMBLY [07/2020 - 05/2023] 

  10. CHECK REAR COMBINATION LIGHT LENS AND BODY RH 
    1. Disconnect the X69 rear combination light lens and body RH connector.
    2. Clear the DTCs.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [07/2020 - ]

      Body Electrical > Combination Meter > Clear DTCs 

    3. Recheck for DTCs and check that no DTCs are output.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [07/2020 - ]

      Body Electrical > Combination Meter > Trouble Codes 

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      DTC B1508 is output. A
      DTC B1507 is output. B

    Result: 

    B 

    REPLACE REAR COMBINATION LIGHT LENS AND BODY RH. Refer to  DISASSEMBLY [07/2020 - ]

  11. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (RH SIDE CIRCUIT) 
    1. Disconnect the P26 combination meter assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the X69 rear combination light lens and body RH connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      P26-5 (TRNR) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      X69-4 (TRN) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [07/2020 - ] 

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

  12. CHECK REAR COMBINATION LIGHT LENS AND BODY LH 
    1. Disconnect the X70 rear combination light lens and body LH connector.
    2. Clear the DTCs.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [07/2020 - ]

      Body Electrical > Combination Meter > Clear DTCs 

    3. Recheck for DTCs and check that no DTCs are output.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [07/2020 - ]

      Body Electrical > Combination Meter > Trouble Codes

      DTC B1508 is output. A
      DTC B1507 is output. B

    Result:

    REPLACE REAR COMBINATION LIGHT LENS AND BODY LH. Refer to  DISASSEMBLY [07/2020 - ]

  13. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (LH SIDE CIRCUIT) 
    1. Disconnect the P26 combination meter assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the X70 rear combination light lens and body LH connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      P26-11 (TRNL) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      X70-4 (TRN) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [07/2020 - ] 

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
