DTC B1815-54: Short in Front Passenger Side Squib 2nd Step Circuit; DTC B1816-54: Open in Front Passenger Side Squib 2nd Step Circuit; DTC B1817-54: Short to GND in Front Passenger Side Squib 2nd Step Circuit; DTC B1818-54: Short to B+ in Front Passenger Side Squib 2nd Step Circuit [08/2015 - 08/2019]: Procedure
- CHECK INSTRUMENT PANEL PASSENGER AIRBAG (FRONT PASSENGER SIDE SQUIB 2ND STEP)
- Turn the engine switch off.
- Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal, and wait for at least 90 seconds.
- Disconnect the connectors from the instrument panel passenger airbag.
- Connect the white wire side of SST (resistance: 2.1 Ω) to connector E (black connector).WARNING:
Never connect the tester to the instrument panel passenger airbag (front passenger side squib 2nd step) for measurement, as this may lead to a serious injury due to airbag deployment.
NOTE:- Do not forcibly insert SST into the terminals of the connector when connecting SST.
- Insert SST straight into the terminals of the connector.
- SST: 09843-18061
- Connect the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal, and wait for at least 2 seconds.
- Turn the engine switch on (IG), and wait for at least 60 seconds.
- Clear the DTCs (Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [08/2015 - 08/2019] ).
- Turn the engine switch off.
- Turn the engine switch on (IG), and wait for at least 60 seconds.
- Check for DTCs (Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [08/2015 - 08/2019]
).
OK
DTC B1815, B1816, B1817 or B1818 is not output.
HINT:
Codes other than DTC B1815, B1816, B1817 and B1818 may be output at this time, but they are not related to this check.
