Bus Buffer ECU Communication Stop Mode [06/2018 - 08/2020]: Procedure

  1. CHECK OPTIONS 
    1. Check whether dealer installed options that support CAN communication are installed.

  2. CHECK FOR OPEN IN CAN BUS LINES (OPTION CONNECTOR (BUS BUFFER ECU) BRANCH LINE) 
    1. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
    2. Disconnect the G80 option connector (bus buffer ECU).

      HINT: 

      Disconnect any CAN compatible optional devices from the option connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G80-2 (CAN+) - G80-1 (CAN-) Cable disconnected from negative (-) battery terminal 54 to 69 Ω

    REPAIR OR REPLACE CAN BRANCH LINES OR CONNECTOR (OPTION CONNECTOR (BUS BUFFER ECU))

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (POWER SOURCE CIRCUIT) 
    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G80-5 (GND) - Body ground Cable disconnected from negative (-) battery terminal Below 1 Ω

      (to Option Connector (Bus Buffer ECU))
    2. Reconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G80-3 (R+B) - Body ground Always 11 to 14 V

    REPAIR OR REPLACE CAN COMPATIBLE OPTIONAL DEVICE

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (POWER SOURCE CIRCUIT) 

  4. CHECK FOR DTC 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Main Body / Utility / Initialization.

      Body Electrical > Main Body > Utility 

      Tester Display
      Initialization
    5. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Central Gateway / Utility / Initialization.

      Body Electrical > Central Gateway > Utility 

      Tester Display
      Initialization
    6. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Main Body / Clear DTCs.

      Body Electrical > Main Body > Clear DTCs 

    7. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Main Body / Trouble Codes.

      Body Electrical > Main Body > Trouble Codes

      DTC U1117 is not output from main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) A
