VSC OFF Switch Circuit [06/2018 - ]: Procedure

  1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (TRAC/VSC OFF MODE) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
    3. Enter the following menus: Chassis / Brake/EPB / Data List.

    4. Check the indicator light and mode condition on the Techstream changes according to VSC OFF switch operation.

    Result: 

    INSPECT METER / GAUGE SYSTEM. Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [06/2018 - ]

    USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK. Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [06/2018 - ]

  2. INSPECT VSC OFF SWITCH 
    1. Make sure that there is no looseness at the locking part and the connecting part of the connector.

      *a Component without harness connected
      (VSC OFF Switch)

      OK

      The connector is securely connected.

    2. Disconnect the H13 VSC OFF switch connector.
    3. Check both the connector case and the terminal for deformation and corrosion.

      OK

      No deformation or corrosion.

    4. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      2 (+) - 7 (E) Switch pushed Below 1 Ω
      2 (+) - 7 (E) Switch not pushed 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE VSC OFF SWITCH. Refer to  REMOVAL [06/2018 - 08/2021]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [08/2021 - 09/2022]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [09/2022 - ] 

    Result: 

    OK

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY - VSC OFF SWITCH) 
    1. Make sure that there is no looseness at the locking part and the connecting part of the connector.

      OK

      The connector is securely connected.

    2. Disconnect the A40 skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly) connector.
    3. Disconnect the H13 VSC OFF switch connector.
    4. Check both the connector case and the terminals for deformation and corrosion.

      OK

      No deformation or corrosion.

    5. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      H13-2 (+) - A40-38 (CSW) Always Below 1 Ω
      H13-2 (+) or A40-38 (CSW) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      H13-7 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

      Result

      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [06/2018 - 08/2020]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [08/2020 - 08/2021]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [08/2021 - 09/2022]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [09/2022 - ] 

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
