Main Switch Circuit [06/2018 - ]: Procedure

  1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Head Up Display / Data List.
    5. Read the Data List according to the display on the Techstream.

      Body Electrical > Head Up Display > Data List 

      Tester Display Measurement Item Range Normal Condition Diagnostic Note
      Main Switch Headup display switch (No. 2 combination switch assembly) OFF or ON OFF: Switch released
      ON: Switch pushed      		 -

      Body Electrical > Head Up Display > Data List 

      Tester Display
      Main Switch

      OK

      Headup display switch (No. 2 combination switch assembly) condition displayed on the Techstream changes with the actual switch operation.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE METER MIRROR SUB-ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [06/2018 - 08/2021]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [08/2021 - 09/2022]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [09/2022 - ] 

    Result: 

    NG 

    See step  2

  2. INSPECT NO. 2 COMBINATION SWITCH ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the No. 2 combination switch assembly.

      Refer to REMOVAL [06/2018 - 08/2021] , or refer to REMOVAL [08/2021 - ]

    2. Inspect the No. 2 combination switch assembly.

      Refer to INSPECTION [06/2018 - ]

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE NO. 2 COMBINATION SWITCH ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [06/2018 - 08/2021]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [08/2021 - ] 

    Result: 

    OK

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (NO. 2 COMBINATION SWITCH ASSEMBLY - METER MIRROR SUB-ASSEMBLY AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the G27 meter mirror sub-assembly connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G32-5 (ILU) - G27-9 (SW1) Always Below 1 Ω
      G32-17 (CH) - G27-16 (E) Always Below 1 Ω
      G32-5 (ILU) or G27-9 (SW1) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE METER MIRROR SUB-ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [06/2018 - 08/2021]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [08/2021 - 09/2022]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [09/2022 - ] 

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
