DTC P3107-15: Lost Communication with Airbag System Control Module Circuit Short to Auxiliary Battery or Open [06/2018 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (SRS AIRBAG) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / SRS Airbag / Trouble Codes.
    4. Check for DTCs.

      Body Electrical > SRS Airbag > Trouble Codes 

      Result

      Result  Proceed to
      Airbag system DTCs are not output. A
      Airbag system DTCs are output. B
    5. Turn the power switch off.

    Result: 

    GO TO DTC CHART (AIRBAG SYSTEM (for HV Model)). Refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [06/2018 - 08/2021]  , or refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [08/2021 - 09/2022]  , or refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [09/2022 - ] 

    Result:

  2. CHECK AIR BAG ECU ASSEMBLY (CHECK WAVEFORM)

  4. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (HYBRID CONTROL) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Trouble Codes.
    4. Check for DTCs.

      Powertrain > Hybrid Control > Trouble Codes 

      Result

      Result  Proceed to
      P3107-15 is not output. A
      P3107-15 is output again. B
    5. Turn the power switch off.

    Result: 

    REPLACE HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU. Refer to  REMOVAL [06/2018 - 08/2021]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [08/2021 - 09/2022]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [09/2022 - ]

  5. CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS 

    Refer to CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS [06/2018 - ]

    REPLACE HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU. Refer to  REMOVAL [06/2018 - 08/2021]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [08/2021 - 09/2022]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [09/2022 - ]

    REPAIR OR REPLACE MALFUNCTIONING PARTS, COMPONENT AND AREA 

  6. CHECK CONNECTOR CONNECTION CONDITION (HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU CONNECTOR) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1

  7. CHECK CONNECTOR CONNECTION CONDITION (AIRBAG ECU ASSEMBLY CONNECTOR) 
    1. Check the connector connections and contact pressure of the relevant terminals for the G64 airbag ECU assembly connector.

      OK

      The connectors are connected securely and there are no contact pressure problems.

  8. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU - AIRBAG ECU ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the G60 hybrid vehicle control ECU connector.
    2. Disconnect the G64 airbag ECU assembly connector.
    3. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    4. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G60-14 (ABFS) - Body ground Power switch on (IG) Below 1 V

      (to Hybrid Vehicle Control ECU)

      (to Airbag ECU Assembly)
      NOTE:

      Turning the power switch on (IG) with the airbag ECU assembly connector and the hybrid vehicle control ECU connector disconnected causes other DTCs to be stored. Clear the DTCs after performing this inspection.

    5. Turn the power switch off.
    6. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance (Check for Open)

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G60-14 (ABFS) - G64-24 (GSW2) Power switch off Below 1 Ω

      Standard Resistance (Check for Short)

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G60-14 (ABFS) or G64-24 (GSW2) - Body ground and other terminals Power switch off 10 kΩ or higher
    7. Reconnect the G64 airbag ECU assembly connector.
    8. Reconnect the G60 hybrid vehicle control ECU connector.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result:

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  9. CHECK HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU 
    1. Disconnect the G64 airbag ECU assembly connector.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      (Hybrid Vehicle Control ECU)
      NOTE:

      Turning the power switch on (IG) with the airbag ECU assembly connector disconnected causes other DTCs to be stored. Clear the DTCs after performing this inspection.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G60-14 (ABFS) - Body ground Power switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V
    4. Turn the power switch off.
    5. Reconnect the G64 airbag ECU assembly connector.

      Result

      Proceed to

    REPLACE HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU. Refer to  REMOVAL [06/2018 - 08/2021]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [08/2021 - 09/2022]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [09/2022 - ]

  10. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (AIRBAG ECU ASSEMBLY - BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the G64 airbag ECU assembly connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance (Check for Open)

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G64-33 (E1) - Body ground Power switch off Below 1 Ω
    3. Reconnect the G64 airbag ECU assembly connector.

      Result

      Proceed to

      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE AIR BAG ECU ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [06/2018 - 08/2020]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [08/2020 - 08/2021]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [08/2021 - 09/2022]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [09/2022 - ] 

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
