Removal [06/2018 - 08/2020]: Procedure

  1. PRECAUTION 
    NOTE:

    After turning the engine switch (for Gasoline Model) or power switch (for HV Model) off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal notices before proceeding with work.

  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE AUXILIARY BATTERY TERMINAL 

    for 2GR-FKS:

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1

    for A25A-FXS:

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1

  3. REMOVE REAR POWER WINDOW REGULATOR SWITCH ASSEMBLY WITH REAR DOOR UPPER ARMREST BASE PANEL 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3

  4. REMOVE REAR DOOR TRIM UPPER PAD 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5

  5. REMOVE COURTESY LIGHT ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1

  6. REMOVE REAR DOOR TRIM BOARD SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 7

  7. REMOVE REAR SIDE CURTAIN ASSEMBLY (w/ Rear Door Sunshade) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 16

  8. REMOVE REAR DOOR SERVICE HOLE COVER 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 18

  9. REMOVE REAR DOOR NO. 2 SERVICE HOLE COVER 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 20

  10. REMOVE REAR DOOR NO. 2 VENT SEAL 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 21

  11. REMOVE REAR DOOR PANEL PROTECTOR 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 22

  12. REMOVE REAR DOOR GLASS RUN 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 26

  13. DISCONNECT REAR DOOR WEATHERSTRIP 
    1. Disconnect the rear door weatherstrip until the screw of the rear door window division bar sub-assembly and 2 screws of the rear door quarter window glass sub-assembly are visible.
  14. REMOVE REAR DOOR WINDOW DIVISION BAR SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 27

  15. REMOVE REAR DOOR QUARTER WINDOW GLASS SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 28

  16. REMOVE REAR DOOR GLASS SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 29

  17. REMOVE REAR DOOR LOCK WITH MOTOR ASSEMBLY 
    1. Using a T30 "TORX" socket wrench, remove the 3 screws.

      *a Release Plate
      Remove in this Direction
    2. Move the rear door lock with motor assembly downward to disconnect it from the release plate of the rear door outside handle frame sub-assembly, and remove the rear door lock with motor assembly.
    3. When reusing the rear door lock with motor assembly:
      1. Remove the door lock wiring harness seal from the rear door lock with motor assembly.

  18. REMOVE REAR DOOR LOCK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Using a screwdriver, disengage the 2 claws as shown in the illustration.

    2. Disengage the 2 claws to remove the rear door lock cover sub-assembly as shown in the illustration.

  19. REMOVE REAR DOOR LOCK OPEN LEVER REMOTE CONTROL CABLE 
    1. Remove the rear door lock open lever remote control cable as shown in the illustration.

      Remove in this Direction
  20. REMOVE REAR DOOR INSIDE LOCK/UNLOCK KNOB LOCKING CABLE 
    1. Remove the rear door inside lock/unlock knob locking cable as shown in the illustration.
