Installation [07/2022 - ]: Procedure
- TEMPORARILY TIGHTEN TIE ROD END SUB-ASSEMBLY LH
- TEMPORARILY TIGHTEN TIE ROD END SUB-ASSEMBLY RH
HINT:
Perform the same procedure as for the LH side.
- INSTALL STEERING LINK ASSEMBLY
- Insert the steering link assembly as shown in the illustration.
Insert in this Direction - Align the protrusion of the steering link assembly with the hole of the No. 1 steering column hole cover sub-assembly, and install the No. 1 steering column hole cover sub-assembly to the steering link assembly.
HINT:
Check that the No. 1 steering column hole cover sub-assembly is securely installed.
- Set the No. 1 steering rack housing bracket to the steering link assembly.
- Install the steering link assembly with No. 1 steering rack housing bracket to the front suspension crossmember sub-assembly with the 2 bolts and 2 new nuts.
Torque: 133 N.m (1356 kgf/cm, 98 ft.lbf)
NOTE:- Because the nut has its own stopper, do not turn the nut. Tighten the bolt with the nut secured.
- Make sure to tighten the bolts starting from the left side of the vehicle.
- Engage the guide to install the wiring harness clamp bracket to the front suspension crossmember sub-assembly.
- Install the bolt.
Torque: 13 N.m (133 kgf/cm, 10 ft.lbf)
- Connect the connector.
- Insert the steering link assembly as shown in the illustration.
- CONNECT TIE ROD END SUB-ASSEMBLY LH
- Connect the tie rod end sub-assembly LH to the steering knuckle LH with the nut.
Torque: 49 N.m (500 kgf/cm, 36 ft.lbf)
NOTE:- Do not damage the ball joint dust cover.
- Further tighten the nut up to 60° if the holes for the cotter pin are not aligned.
- Install a new cotter pin.
- Connect the tie rod end sub-assembly LH to the steering knuckle LH with the nut.
- CONNECT TIE ROD END SUB-ASSEMBLY RH

Perform the same procedure as for the LH side.
- INSTALL STEERING KNUCKLE SEAL
HINT:
Perform the same procedure as for the LH side.
- CONNECT NO. 1 STEERING COLUMN HOLE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY
- CONNECT NO. 2 STEERING INTERMEDIATE SHAFT ASSEMBLY
- INSTALL COLUMN HOLE COVER SILENCER SHEET
- INSTALL FRONT WHEELS

- STABILIZE SUSPENSION
Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 22
- INSPECT AND ADJUST FRONT WHEEL ALIGNMENT
Refer to ADJUSTMENT [07/2022 - ]
- FULLY TIGHTEN TIE ROD END SUB-ASSEMBLY LH
- Using SST, tighten the tie rod end sub-assembly lock nuts.
- SST: 09612-24014
- 09617-24011
Specified Tightening Torque
Torque: 74 N.m (755 kgf/cm, 55 ft.lbf)
*a Torque Wrench Fulcrum Length HINT:
- Calculate the torque wrench reading when changing the fulcrum length of the torque wrench.

- When using SST (fulcrum length of 52.7 mm (2.07 in.)) + torque wrench (fulcrum length of 255 mm (10.04 in.)): 61.3 N.m (625 kgf/cm, 45 ft.lbf)
- SST: 09612-24014
- Using SST, tighten the tie rod end sub-assembly lock nuts.
- FULLY TIGHTEN TIE ROD END SUB-ASSEMBLY RH

Perform the same procedure as for the LH side.
