DTC C14B3: Reaction Force Pressure Sensor Zero Point Malfunction [10/2018 - ]: Procedure

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 6 other vehicles, including the 2024 Lexus UX 250h, 2023 Lexus UX 250h, 2022 Lexus UX 250h, 2021 Lexus UX 250h, and 2020 Lexus UX 250h. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. CHECK BRAKE PEDAL
    1. Check that the brake pedal and the brake pedal stroke sensor assembly are properly installed and that the pedal can be depressed normally.
    2. Check and adjust the brake pedal height.

Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1

    3. Adjust the brake pedal stroke sensor assembly.

Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4

  2. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (REACTION FORCE PRESSURE)
    1. Select the Data List on the Techstream.

Refer to DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST [10/2018 - ]

      Chassis > ABS/VSC/TRAC > Data List

Tester Display Measurement Item Range Normal Condition Diagnostic Note
Reaction Force Pressure Pressure value of stroke simulator Min.: 0.00 MPa, Max.: 24.48 MPa Brake pedal released: 0.00 MPa Brake pedal is being depressed: Changes in proportion to the depression force of the brake pedal

    2. Check that the reaction force pressure sensor output value is within 0.00 to 1.53 MPa when the brake pedal is not depressed.

      OK

The reaction force pressure sensor output value is within 0.00 to 1.53 MPa.

      HINT:

If the reaction force pressure sensor output value is within 0.00 to 1.53 MPa, the skid control ECU (brake booster with master cylinder assembly) automatically performs zero point calibration every time the power switch is turned on (IG).

Therefore, if the reaction force pressure sensor output value is not within 0.00 to 1.53 MPa, replace the skid control ECU (brake booster with master cylinder assembly) with a new one.

REPLACE BRAKE BOOSTER WITH MASTER CYLINDER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [10/2018 - 07/2022]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [07/2022 - ]

    Result:

    OK

    See step  3

  3. RECONFIRM DTC
    1. Clear the DTCs.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [10/2018 - ]

      Chassis > ABS/VSC/TRAC > Clear DTCs

    2. Turn the power switch off.
    3. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    4. Check if the same DTC is output.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [10/2018 - ]

      Chassis > ABS/VSC/TRAC > Trouble Codes

      HINT:

Even if the DTC is cleared, it will immediately be output again if the reaction force pressure sensor zero point malfunction remains.
