DTC P2530-12: IG2 Signal Circuit Short to Auxiliary Battery [10/2018 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK AUXILIARY BATTERY VOLTAGE 
    1. Turn the power switch off and turn on the high beam headlights for 30 seconds. This will remove the surface charge from the auxiliary battery.
    2. Measure the auxiliary battery voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      Positive (+) auxiliary battery terminal - Negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal 20°C (68°F), Power switch off 12.0 V or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK

  2. CHARGE OR REPLACE AUXILIARY BATTERY 
    1. Charge or replace the auxiliary battery.

      Result

  3. CLEAR DTC 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Trouble Codes.

      Powertrain > Hybrid Control > Clear DTCs 

    5. Clear the DTCs.
    6. Turn the power switch off.

      Result

      Proceed to
      NEXT

  4. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (HYBRID CONTROL) 
    1. Turn the power switch on (IG) and wait for 15 seconds or more.
    2. Turn the power switch off and wait for 2 minutes or more.
    3. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    4. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    5. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Trouble Codes.

      Powertrain > Hybrid Control > Trouble Codes 

    6. Check for DTCs.

      Result

      Result  Proceed to
      P253012 is output. A
      P253012 is not output. B
    7. Turn the power switch off.

    Result: 

    CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS. Refer to  CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS [10/2018 - ]

  5. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (HYBRID CONTROL) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Trouble Codes.
    4. Check for DTCs.

      Powertrain > Hybrid Control > Trouble Codes 

      Result

      Result  Proceed to
      U012987, U014087, U015187, U016487, U110787 or U117087 is output A
      U011087, U012987, U014087, U015187, U016487 or U117087 is not output. B
    5. Turn the power switch off.

    Result: 

    REPLACE CERTIFICATION ECU (SMART KEY ECU ASSEMBLY). Refer to  REMOVAL [10/2018 - 07/2022]  Refer to  REMOVAL [07/2022 - ]

  6. CHECK HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU 
    1. Disconnect the F60 hybrid vehicle control ECU connector.

      (to Hybrid Vehicle Control ECU)
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      F60-35 (IG2) - F60-12 (E01) Power switch off 9 V or higher
    3. Reconnect the F60 hybrid vehicle control ECU connector.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU. Refer to  REMOVAL [10/2018 - 07/2022]  Refer to  REMOVAL [07/2022 - ] 

    Result: 

    OK

  7. CHECK ECM 
    1. Disconnect the F60 hybrid vehicle control ECU connector.

    2. Disconnect the A36 ECM connectors.
    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      F60-35 (IG2) - F60-12 (E01) Power switch off 9 V or higher
    4. Reconnect the A36 ECM connectors.
    5. Reconnect the F60 hybrid vehicle control ECU connector.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE ECM. Refer to  REMOVAL [10/2018 - 07/2022]  Refer to  REMOVAL [07/2022 - ]

  8. INSPECT NO. 1 INTEGRATION RELAY (IG2 NO. 1 RELAY) 

    Refer to INSPECTION [10/2018 - ]

    REPLACE NO. 1 INTEGRATION RELAY. Refer to  REMOVAL [10/2018 - 07/2022]  Refer to  REMOVAL [07/2022 - ]

  9. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU - NO. 1 INTEGRATION RELAY) 
    1. Disconnect the F60 hybrid vehicle control ECU connector.
    2. Remove the NO. 1 integration relay from the No. 1 engine room relay block.

      Refer to REMOVAL [10/2018 - 07/2022] Refer to REMOVAL [07/2022 - ]

    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      F60-35 (IG2) - Body ground Power switch off 1 V or less
    4. Install the NO. 1 integration relay.
    5. Reconnect the F60 hybrid vehicle control ECU connector.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS 

    1. Check for intermittent problems.

      Refer to CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS [10/2018 - ]

      1. Check the connection and terminal contact pressure of the connectors and wire harnesses between the hybrid vehicle control ECU and the No. 1 engine room relay block.
      2. When the power switch is on (READY), jiggle the connectors and wire harnesses between the hybrid vehicle control ECU and the No. 1 engine room relay block.

    Result:
