Rear Shut Down Signal Circuit [10/2018 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HYBRID MOTOR CONTROL INVERTER ASSEMBLY REAR) 
    WARNING:

    Be sure to wear insulated gloves.

    1. Check that the service plug grip is not installed.
      NOTE:

      After removing the service plug grip, do not turn the power switch on (READY), unless instructed by the service information because this may cause a malfunction.

    2. Remove the PCU RR fuse from the No. 3 relay block.
    3. Disconnect the inverter with converter assembly connector.

      *1 No. 3 Relay Block
      *2 PCU RR Fuse
    4. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      (to Inverter with converter assembly)

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      C41-18 (SDNR) - 2 (PCU RR fuse) Power switch off 10 kΩ or higher
      C41-18 (SDNR) - Body ground Power switch off 10 kΩ or higher
    5. Connect the inverter with converter assembly connector.
    6. Install the PCU RR fuse.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG

  2. CHECK INVERTER WITH CONVERTER ASSEMBLY 
    WARNING:

    Be sure to wear insulated gloves.

    1. Check that the service plug grip is not installed.
      NOTE:

      After removing the service plug grip, do not turn the power switch on (READY), unless instructed by the service information because this may cause a malfunction.

    2. Disconnect the inverter with converter assembly connector.

      *a Component without harness connected
      (Inverter with converter assembly)
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      C41-18 (SDNR) - C41-6 (+B) Power switch off 5 MΩ or higher
      C41-18 (SDNR) - C41-5 (+B2) Power switch off 5 MΩ or higher
    4. Connect the inverter with converter assembly connector.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REAR SHUTDOWN SIGNAL CIRCUIT NORMAL (PERFORM NEXT STEP FOR REFERENCED DTC) 

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE INVERTER WITH CONVERTER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [10/2018 - 07/2022]  Refer to  REMOVAL [07/2022 - ] 

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU - INVERTER WITH CONVERTER ASSEMBLY) 
    WARNING:

    Be sure to wear insulated gloves.

    1. Check that the service plug grip is not installed.
      NOTE:

      After removing the service plug grip, do not turn the power switch on (READY), unless instructed by the service information because this may cause a malfunction.

    2. Disconnect the inverter with converter assembly connector.
    3. Disconnect the Hybrid Motor Control Inverter Assembly Rear connector.
    4. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      (to Hybrid Motor Control Inverter Assembly Rear)

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      C41-18 (SDNR) - N56-4 (SDNR) Power switch off Below 1 Ω
      N56-4 (SDNR) - N56-6 (+BR1) Power switch off 10 kΩ or higher
      N56-4 (SDNR) - N56-13 (+BR2) Power switch off 10 kΩ or higher
      C41-18 (SDNR) or N56-4 (SDNR) - Body ground Power switch off 10 kΩ or higher
    5. Connect the Hybrid Motor Control Inverter Assembly Rear connector.
    6. Connect the inverter with converter assembly connector.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE HYBRID MOTOR CONTROL INVERTER ASSEMBLY REAR. Refer to  REMOVAL [10/2018 - 07/2022]  Refer to  REMOVAL [07/2022 - ] 

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
