Pattern Select Switch Sport Mode Circuit [10/2018 - 07/2022]: Procedure

  1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (CAN BUS CHECK)

  3. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (SPORT MODE SWITCH, NORMAL MODE SWITCH) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Data List / Sport Mode Switch, Normal Mode Switch.

      Powertrain > Hybrid Control > Data List 

      Tester Display
      Sport Mode Switch
      Normal Mode Switch
    4. Read the value displayed on the Techstream.

      Powertrain > Hybrid Control > Data List 

      Tester Display Measurement Item Range Normal Condition
      Sport Mode Switch SPORT mode switch condition ON or OFF SPORT mode switch being pushed and held:
      ON
      SPORT mode switch not operated:
      OFF
      Normal Mode Switch NORMAL mode switch condition ON or OFF NORMAL mode switch being pushed and held:
      ON
      NORMAL mode switch not operated:
      OFF

      Result

      The Techstream display changes according to the electric parking brake switch assembly operation. A

    5. Turn the power switch off.

    Result: 

    REPLACE HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU. Refer to  REMOVAL [10/2018 - 07/2022]

  4. INSPECT DRIVE MODE SELECT SWITCH (COMBINATION SWITCH ASSEMBLY) (SPORT MODE, NORMAL MODE) 

    Refer to INSPECTION [10/2018 - ]

    REPLACE DRIVE MODE SELECT SWITCH (COMBINATION SWITCH ASSEMBLY). Refer to  REMOVAL [10/2018 - 07/2022]

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (DRIVE MODE SELECT SWITCH (COMBINATION SWITCH ASSEMBLY) - BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the I1 drive mode select switch (combination switch assembly) connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      I1-7 (GND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
    3. Reconnect the I1 drive mode select switch (combination switch assembly) connector.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU - DRIVE MODE SELECT SWITCH (COMBINATION SWITCH ASSEMBLY)) 
    1. Disconnect the F59 hybrid vehicle control ECU connectors.
    2. Disconnect the I1 drive mode select switch (combination switch assembly) connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition SSPSWecified Condition
      F59-37 (SPRT) - I1-3 (SPSW) Always Below 1 Ω
      F59-37 (SPRT) or I1-3 (SPSW) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      F59-38 (NORM) - I1-2 (NORM) Always Below 1 Ω
      F59-38 (NORM) or I1-2 (NORM) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    4. Reconnect the I1 drive mode select switch (combination switch assembly) connector.
    5. Reconnect the F59 hybrid vehicle control ECU connectors.

    REPLACE HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU. Refer to  REMOVAL [10/2018 - 07/2022]
