ECO Switch Circuit [10/2018 - 07/2022]: Procedure

  1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Air Conditioner / Data List.
    5. Read the Data List according to the display on the Techstream.

      Body Electrical > Air Conditioner > Data List 

      Tester Display Measurement Item Range Normal Condition Diagnostic Note
      ECO Switch ECO switch (satellite switch set) OFF or ON OFF: ECO switch (satellite switch set) not turned
      ON: ECO switch (satellite switch set) turned and held at ECO position      		 ECO switch (satellite switch set) circuit malfunction

      Body Electrical > Air Conditioner > Data List 

      Tester Display
      ECO Switch

      OK

      ECO switch (satellite switch set) condition displayed on the Techstream changes with the actual switch operation.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [10/2018 - 07/2022] 

    Result: 

    NG

  2. INSPECT ECO SWITCH (SATELLITE SWITCH SET) 
    1. Remove the ECO switch (satellite switch set).

      Refer to REMOVAL [10/2018 - 07/2022]

    2. Inspect the ECO switch (satellite switch set).

      Refer to INSPECTION [10/2018 - ]

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE ECO SWITCH (SATELLITE SWITCH SET). Refer to  REMOVAL [10/2018 - 07/2022] 

    Result: 

    OK

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ECO SWITCH (SATELLITE SWITCH SET) - AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the F50 air conditioning amplifier assembly connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      I1-6 (ECU) - F50-20 (ECOS) Always Below 1 Ω
      I1-7 (GND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      I1-6 (ECU) or F50-20 (ECOS) - Other terminals and body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [10/2018 - 07/2022] 

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
