DTC C0526-46: Steering Angle Sensor Module Calibration / Parameter Memory Failure [10/2018 - 07/2022]: Procedure
- CHECK DTC
- Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
- Turn the engine switch on (IG).
- Operate the Techstream to clear the codes. Enter the following menus: Chassis / Brake/EPB / Trouble Codes.
Chassis > Brake/EPB > Clear DTCs
- Press the DTC clear button.
- Turn the engine switch off.
- Turn the engine switch on (IG) again and check that no CAN communication system DTCs are output.
Refer to HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [10/2018 - 07/2022]
- Start the engine and perform a road test.
- Drive the vehicle at a speed of 15 km/h (9 mph) and turn the steering wheel to the right and left.
- Check that no speed sensor or yaw rate and acceleration sensor (airbag ECU assembly) DTCs are output. Enter the following menus: Chassis / Brake/EPB / Trouble Codes.
Chassis > Brake/EPB > Trouble Codes

Result Proceed to C0526-46 is output. A CAN communication system DTCs are output. B Speed sensor and/or yaw rate and acceleration sensor (airbag ECU assembly) DTCs are output. C C0526-46 is not output. D HINT:
- If a speed sensor or the yaw rate and acceleration sensor (airbag ECU assembly) is malfunctioning, DTCs for the steering sensor may be stored even though the steering sensor is normal.
- If speed sensor and yaw rate and acceleration sensor (airbag ECU assembly) DTCs are output simultaneously, repair these malfunctions and then inspect the steering sensor.
- If DTC C0526-46 is not output again, the DTC may have been stored due to a temporary loss of steering angle zero point calibration, such as a loss of calibration due to the power source voltage being low.

- CHECK STEERING SENSOR ZERO POINT CALIBRATION
- Drive the vehicle straight ahead at 15 km/h (9 mph) or more for at least 1 second.
- Check that the steering wheel is correctly centered while driving straight ahead.

HINT:
If front wheel alignment and steering are adjusted as a result of an off-center steering wheel, acquire the yaw rate and acceleration sensor zero point again after the adjustments are completed.

- Press the DTC clear button.
- Turn the engine switch off.
- Start the engine and perform a road test.
- Drive the vehicle at a speed of 15 km/h (9 mph) and turn the steering wheel to the right and left.
- Read the DTCs following the prompts on the Techstream. Enter the following menus: Chassis / Brake/EPB / Trouble Codes.
Chassis > Brake/EPB > Trouble Codes
- Check if the same DTC is output.
