DTC C0520-96: Multi-axis Acceleration Sensor Module "A" Component Internal Failure [10/2018 - 07/2022]: Procedure

  1. CHECK FREEZE FRAME DATA (LATERAL G AND FORWARD AND REARWARD G) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
    3. Enter the following menus: Chassis / Brake/EPB / Trouble Codes.
    4. Select a DTC to display the Freeze Frame Data.
    5. Read the freeze frame data of DTC C0520-96.

      Chassis > Brake/EPB

      Chassis > Brake/EPB > DTC(C0520-96) > Freeze Frame Data

      Forward and Rearward G

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      The value of Lateral G or Forward and rearward G is less than -14.6 m/s2 or more than 14.6 m/s2 . A
      Other than above. B

    Result:

    REPLACE AIRBAG ECU ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [10/2018 - 07/2022]

  2. CHECK FREEZE FRAME DATA (LATERAL G AND VEHICLE SPEED) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
    3. Enter the following menus: Chassis / Brake/EPB / Trouble Codes.
    4. Select a DTC to display the Freeze Frame Data.
    5. Read the freeze frame data of DTC C0520-96.

      Chassis > Brake/EPB

  3. CHECK AIRBAG ECU ASSEMBLY INSTALLATION 
    1. Check that the yaw rate and acceleration sensor (airbag ECU assembly) has been installed properly.

      Refer to INSTALLATION [10/2018 - 07/2022]

      OK

      The yaw rate and acceleration sensor (airbag ECU assembly) is tightened to the specified torque.

      The yaw rate and acceleration sensor (airbag ECU assembly) is not installed in a tilted position.

    REPLACE AIRBAG ECU ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [10/2018 - 07/2022]
