Removal [03/2018 - ]: Procedure

  1. REMOVE BACK WINDOW UPPER PANEL TRIM (w/o Rear No. 2 Seat) 

    See step  [03/2018 - 08/2019], or see step  [08/2019 - ]

  2. REMOVE BACK WINDOW UPPER PANEL TRIM (w/ Rear No. 2 Seat) 

    See step  [03/2018 - 08/2019], or see step  [08/2019 - ]

  3. REMOVE BACK DOOR TRIM COVER LH (w/o Rear No. 2 Seat)

  4. REMOVE BACK DOOR TRIM COVER LH (w/ Rear No. 2 Seat) 

    See step  [03/2018 - 08/2019], or see step  [08/2019 - ]

  5. REMOVE BACK DOOR TRIM COVER RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  6. REMOVE BACK DOOR LOCK COVER (w/o Rear No. 2 Seat)

  7. REMOVE BACK DOOR LOCK COVER (w/ Rear No. 2 Seat) 

    See step  [03/2018 - 08/2019], or see step  [08/2019 - ]

  8. REMOVE BACK DOOR TRIM BASE 

    See step  [03/2018 - 08/2019], or see step  [08/2019 - ]

  9. REMOVE DOOR PULL HANDLE 

    See step  [03/2018 - 08/2019], or see step  [08/2019 - ]

  10. REMOVE NO. 1 LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT LIGHT ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3 [03/2018 - 08/2019] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3 [08/2019 - ]

  11. REMOVE BACK DOOR TRIM PANEL ASSEMBLY (w/o Rear No. 2 Seat)

  12. REMOVE BACK DOOR TRIM PANEL ASSEMBLY (w/ Rear No. 2 Seat)

  13. REMOVE POWER BACK DOOR UNIT SET ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disconnect the connector.

      *a Grommet
    2. Disengage the grommet.
    3. Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped with protective tape, slightly raise the 2 stop rings as indicated by the arrows, in the order shown in the illustration.

      Remove in this Direction (1)
      Remove in this Direction (2)
    4. Disengage the 2 ball joints to remove the power back door unit set assembly.
      NOTE:
      • Remove the power back door unit set assembly while supporting the back door by hand.
      • Make sure to replace the power back door unit set assembly with a new one.
  14. REMOVE BACK DOOR DAMPER STAY UPPER BRACKET 
    1. Remove the 2 bolts and back door damper stay upper bracket.

  15. REMOVE BACK DOOR DAMPER STAY LOWER BRACKET 
    1. Remove the 2 bolts and back door damper stay lower bracket.
