DTC B15C3: Speaker Output Short [08/2019 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (STEREO COMPONENT AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY OR SPEAKERS - BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the J66 stereo component amplifier assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the K2 front No. 3 speaker assembly connector.
    3. Disconnect the K6 and K8 front No. 2 speaker assembly connectors (for 9 Speakers).

      Disconnect the K5 and K7 front No. 2 speaker assembly connectors (except 9 Speakers).

    4. Disconnect the M3 and N3 front No. 1 speaker assembly connectors.
    5. Disconnect the O5 and P5 rear No. 2 speaker assembly connectors.
    6. Disconnect the S53 rear No. 3 speaker assembly connector (except 9 Speakers).
    7. Disconnect the R25 and S38 quarter side speaker assembly connectors (for 15 Speakers).
    8. Measure the resistance between the stereo component amplifier assembly or the speakers and body ground to check for a short in the wire harness.

      Standard Resistance

      J66-7 (CTR+) or K2-2 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      J66-22 (CTR-) or K2-1 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      J66-13 (FR+) or K6-4 - Body ground*1

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (REAR SPEAKER ASSEMBLY OR REAR NO. 2 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY - BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the O2 and P2 rear speaker assembly connectors.
    2. Disconnect the O5 and P5 rear No. 2 speaker assembly connectors.
    3. Measure the resistance between the rear speaker assembly or the rear No. 2 speaker assembly and body ground to check for a short in the wire harness.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      O2-1 or O5-3 (+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      O2-2 or O5-1 (-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      P2-1 or P5-3 (+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      P2-2 or P5-1 (-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    1. Remove the front No. 3 speaker assembly.

      Refer to REMOVAL [10/2015 - ]

    2. Inspect the front No. 3 speaker assembly.

      Refer to INSPECTION [10/2015 - ]

      Result

      NG

    REPLACE FRONT NO. 3 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [10/2015 - ] 

  5. INSPECT FRONT NO. 3 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the front No. 3 speaker assembly.

      Refer to REMOVAL [10/2015 - ]

    2. Inspect the front No. 3 speaker assembly.

      Refer to INSPECTION [10/2015 - ]

    3. Clear the DTCs.

      Body Electrical > Navigation System > Clear DTCs 

    4. Recheck for DTCs and check that no DTCs are output.

      Body Electrical > Navigation System > Trouble Codes 

      OK

      No DTCs are output.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

  6. INSPECT FRONT NO. 2 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the front No. 2 speaker assembly.

      Refer to REMOVAL [10/2015 - ]

    2. Inspect the front No. 2 speaker assembly.

      Refer to INSPECTION [10/2015 - ]

    3. Clear the DTCs.

      Body Electrical > Navigation System > Clear DTCs 

    4. Recheck for DTCs and check that no DTCs are output.

      Body Electrical > Navigation System > Trouble Codes 

      OK

      No DTCs are output.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

  7. INSPECT FRONT NO. 1 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the front No. 1 speaker assembly.

      Refer to REMOVAL [10/2015 - ]

    2. Inspect the front No. 1 speaker assembly.

      Refer to INSPECTION [10/2015 - ]

      Result

      Proceed to

    REPLACE FRONT NO. 1 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [10/2015 - ]

    1. Remove the rear speaker assembly.

      Refer to REMOVAL [10/2015 - ]

    2. Inspect the rear speaker assembly.

    1. Remove the rear No. 2 speaker assembly.

      Refer to REMOVAL [10/2015 - ]

    2. Inspect the rear No. 2 speaker assembly.

      Refer to INSPECTION [10/2015 - ]

    3. Clear the DTCs.

      Body Electrical > Navigation System > Clear DTCs 

    4. Recheck for DTCs and check that no DTCs are output.

      Body Electrical > Navigation System > Trouble Codes 

      OK

      No DTCs are output.

      Result

  10. INSPECT REAR NO. 2 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the rear No. 2 speaker assembly.

      Refer to REMOVAL [10/2015 - ]

    2. Inspect the rear No. 2 speaker assembly.

      Refer to INSPECTION [10/2015 - ]

    3. Clear the DTCs.

      Body Electrical > Navigation System > Clear DTCs 

    4. Recheck for DTCs and check that no DTCs are output.

      Body Electrical > Navigation System > Trouble Codes 

      OK

      No DTCs are output.

      w/ Rear No. 2 Seat: Refer to REMOVAL [03/2018 - ]

    2. Inspect the rear No. 3 speaker assembly.

      w/o Rear No. 2 Seat: Refer to INSPECTION [10/2015 - ]

      w/ Rear No. 2 Seat: Refer to INSPECTION [03/2018 - ]

    2. Inspect the quarter side speaker assembly.
