DTC B1507: Open in Turn Signal Circuit [03/2019 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK SYMPTOMS 
    1. Check the problem symptoms.

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      LH side front turn signal light does not blink A
      LH side rear turn signal light does not blink B
      RH side front turn signal light does not blink C
      RH side rear turn signal light does not blink D

  2. INSPECT HEADLIGHT ECU SUB-ASSEMBLY LH

    *a Component without harness connected
    (Headlight ECU Sub-assembly LH)    		 - -
    1. Remove the headlight ECU sub-assembly LH.

      Refer to REMOVAL [03/2019 - ]

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A3-11 (TNS) - B-9 (TURN+) Always Below 1 Ω
      A3-12 (GND) - B-13 (TURN-) Always Below 1 Ω

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE HEADLIGHT ECU SUB-ASSEMBLY LH. Refer to  REMOVAL [03/2019 - ] 

    Result: 

    OK

  3. CHECK LH SIDE FRONT TURN SIGNAL LIGHT (HEADLIGHT UNIT ASSEMBLY LH) 
    1. Interchange the headlight unit assembly LH with RH and connect the connectors.

      Refer to DISASSEMBLY [03/2019 - ]

    2. Connect the A3 headlight assembly LH connector.
    3. Operate the turn signal switch and check that the LH side front turn signal light operates normally.

      HINT: 

      If the LH side front turn signal light operates normally, the headlight unit assembly LH is malfunctioning.

      Result

      LH side front turn signal light operates normally A
      Problem symptoms do not change
      (LH side front turn signal light does not blink)      		 B

    Result: 

    A 

    REPLACE HEADLIGHT UNIT ASSEMBLY LH. Refer to  DISASSEMBLY [03/2019 - ]

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY LH - COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the A3 headlight assembly LH connector.
    2. Disconnect the O4 combination meter assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A3-11 (TNS) - O4-13 (LL) Always Below 1 Ω
      A3-12 (GND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [09/2014 - ] 

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

  5. CHECK LH SIDE REAR TURN SIGNAL LIGHT (REAR COMBINATION LIGHT SOCKET AND WIRE SUB-ASSEMBLY LH) 
    1. Interchange the rear combination light socket and wire sub-assembly LH with RH and connect the connectors.

      Refer to DISASSEMBLY [03/2019 - ]

    2. Operate the turn signal switch and check that the LH side rear turn signal light operates normally.

      HINT: 

      If the LH side rear turn signal light operates normally, the rear combination light socket and wire sub-assembly LH is malfunctioning.

      Result

      Problem symptoms do not change
      (LH side rear turn signal light does not blink)      		 B

    Result:

    REPLACE REAR COMBINATION LIGHT SOCKET AND WIRE SUB-ASSEMBLY LH. Refer to  DISASSEMBLY [03/2019 - ] 

    Result: 

    B

  6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (REAR COMBINATION LIGHT ASSEMBLY LH - COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the U41 rear combination light assembly LH connector.
    2. Disconnect the O4 combination meter assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      U41-4 (TRN) - O4-9 (TRNL) Always Below 1 Ω
      U41-3 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [09/2014 - ] 

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

  7. INSPECT HEADLIGHT ECU SUB-ASSEMBLY RH

    *a Component without harness connected
    (Headlight ECU Sub-assembly RH)    		 - -
    1. Remove the headlight ECU sub-assembly RH.

      Refer to REMOVAL [03/2019 - ]

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A11-11 (TNS) - C-9 (TURN+) Always Below 1 Ω
      A11-12 (GND) - C-13 (TURN-) Always Below 1 Ω

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE HEADLIGHT ECU SUB-ASSEMBLY RH. Refer to  REMOVAL [03/2019 - ] 

    Result: 

    OK

  8. CHECK RH SIDE FRONT TURN SIGNAL LIGHT (HEADLIGHT UNIT ASSEMBLY RH) 
    1. Interchange the headlight unit assembly RH with LH and connect the connectors.

      Refer to DISASSEMBLY [03/2019 - ]

    2. Connect the A11 headlight assembly RH connector.
    3. Operate the turn signal switch and check that the RH side front turn signal light operates normally.

      HINT: 

      If the RH side front turn signal light operates normally, the headlight unit assembly RH is malfunctioning.

  9. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY RH - COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the A11 headlight assembly RH connector.
    2. Disconnect the O4 combination meter assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A11-11 (TNS) - O4-7 (LR) Always Below 1 Ω
      A11-12 (GND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [09/2014 - ] 

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

  10. CHECK RH SIDE REAR TURN SIGNAL LIGHT (REAR COMBINATION LIGHT SOCKET AND WIRE SUB-ASSEMBLY RH) 
    1. Interchange the rear combination light socket and wire sub-assembly RH with LH and connect the connectors.

      Refer to DISASSEMBLY [03/2019 - ]

    2. Operate the turn signal switch and check that the RH side rear turn signal light operates normally.

      HINT: 

      If the RH side rear turn signal light operates normally, the rear combination light socket and wire sub-assembly RH is malfunctioning.

      Result

      Problem symptoms do not change
      (RH side rear turn signal light does not blink)      		 B

    Result:

    REPLACE REAR COMBINATION LIGHT SOCKET AND WIRE SUB-ASSEMBLY RH. Refer to  DISASSEMBLY [03/2019 - ]

  11. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (REAR COMBINATION LIGHT ASSEMBLY RH - COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the U5 rear combination light assembly RH connector.
    2. Disconnect the O4 combination meter assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      U5-4 (TRN) - O4-1 (TRNR) Always Below 1 Ω
      U5-3 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY 

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
