Daytime Running Light Relay Circuit [10/2014 - 09/2017]: Procedure

  1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHT) 
    1. Using the Techstream, perform the Active Test.

      Refer to DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST [10/2014 - 09/2017]

      Body Electrical > HL AutoLeveling > Active Test

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (CLEARANCE LIGHT ASSEMBLY RH - BATTERY AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the clearance light assembly RH connector.

      *a Front view of wire harness connector
      (to Clearance Light Assembly RH)
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      A31-3 (DRL) - Body ground Engine switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A31-2 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HEADLIGHT LIGHT CONTROL ECU SUB-ASSEMBLY RH - CLEARANCE LIGHT ASSEMBLY RH) 
    1. Disconnect the A20 headlight light control ECU sub-assembly RH connector.
    2. Disconnect the A31 clearance light assembly RH connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A20-8 (RLD2) - A31-4 (DRLC) Always Below 1 Ω
      A20-8 (RLD2) or A31-4 (DRLC) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  4. INSPECT CLEARANCE LIGHT ASSEMBLY RH 
    1. Remove the clearance light assembly RH.

      Refer to REMOVAL [10/2014 - 09/2017]

    2. Inspect the clearance light assembly RH.

      Refer to INSPECTION [10/2014 - 09/2017]

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE HEADLIGHT LIGHT CONTROL ECU SUB-ASSEMBLY RH. Refer to  REMOVAL [10/2014 - 09/2017] 

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE CLEARANCE LIGHT ASSEMBLY RH. Refer to  REMOVAL [10/2014 - 09/2017] 

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (CLEARANCE LIGHT ASSEMBLY LH - BATTERY AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the clearance light assembly LH connector.

      (to Clearance Light Assembly LH)
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      A30-3 (DRL) - Body ground Engine switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A30-2 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HEADLIGHT LIGHT CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY LH - CLEARANCE LIGHT ASSEMBLY LH) 
    1. Disconnect the A19 headlight light control ECU sub-assembly LH connector.
    2. Disconnect the A30 clearance light assembly LH connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A19-8 (RLD2) - A30-4 (DRLC) Always Below 1 Ω
      A19-8 (RLD2) or A30-4 (DRLC) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  7. INSPECT CLEARANCE LIGHT ASSEMBLY LH 
    1. Remove the clearance light assembly LH.

      Refer to REMOVAL [10/2014 - 09/2017]

    2. Inspect the clearance light assembly LH.

      Refer to INSPECTION [10/2014 - 09/2017]

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE HEADLIGHT LIGHT CONTROL ECU SUB-ASSEMBLY LH. Refer to  REMOVAL [10/2014 - 09/2017] 

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE CLEARANCE LIGHT ASSEMBLY LH. Refer to  REMOVAL [10/2014 - 09/2017]
