Installation [10/2020 - 11/2021]: Procedure

  1. INSTALL NO. 2 SHIFT CONTROL ECU BRACKET 
    1. Install the No. 2 shift control ECU bracket to the shift control ECU with the bolt.

      for Type A 

      Torque: 4.5 N.m (46 kgf/cm, 40 in.lbf) 

      for Type B 

      Torque: 3.0 N.m (31 kgf/cm, 27 in.lbf) 

      Item Bolt Length
      Type A 10.4 mm (0.409 in.)
      Type B 8.0 mm (0.315 in.)
      NOTE:

      Do not deform the No. 2 shift control ECU bracket.

      *a Align the hole on the No. 2 shift control ECU bracket with the protrusion of the shift control ECU.
  2. INSTALL NO. 1 SHIFT CONTROL ECU BRACKET 
    1. Install the No. 1 shift control ECU bracket to the shift control ECU with the bolt.

      for Type A 

      Torque: 4.5 N.m (46 kgf/cm, 40 in.lbf) 

      for Type B 

      Torque: 3.0 N.m (31 kgf/cm, 27 in.lbf)

      Type A 10.4 mm (0.409 in.)
      Type B 8.0 mm (0.315 in.)
      NOTE:

      Do not deform the No. 1 shift control ECU bracket.

      *a Align the hole on the No. 1 shift control ECU bracket with the protrusion of the shift control ECU.
  3. INSTALL SHIFT CONTROL ECU 
    1. Install the shift control ECU with the 2 bolts.

      Torque: 7.5 N.m (76 kgf/cm, 66 in.lbf) 

      NOTE:

      Do not deform the No. 1 shift control ECU bracket and No. 2 shift control ECU bracket when installing the shift control ECU.

      *a Align the hole on the No. 2 shift control ECU bracket with the protrusion of the air conditioning unit.
    2. Connect the 3 shift control ECU connectors.

  4. INSTALL NO. 2 AIR DUCT SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 28

  5. INSTALL GLOVE COMPARTMENT DOOR ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 15

  6. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE AUXILIARY BATTERY TERMINAL 

    Refer to INSTALLATION [10/2020 - 10/2023]

  7. CHECK AND CLEAR DTC 
  8. INSTALL TOOL BOX 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3

  9. INSTALL LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT MAT SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 13

  10. UPDATE ECU SECURITY KEY (w/ Advanced Park) 

    Refer to UPDATE ECU SECURITY KEY [10/2020 - ]

  11. CHECK SRS WARNING LIGHT 
  12. INITIALIZATION AFTER RECONNECTING BATTERY TERMINAL 

    Refer to WORK PROCEDURE [10/2020 - 11/2021]

    HINT: 

    When disconnecting and reconnecting the battery, there is an automatic learning function that completes learning when the respective system is used.

  13. CONFIRMATION WORK AFTER REPLACING SHIFT CONTROL ECU 
    1. After replacing the shift control ECU, check for the following symptoms. If any of these symptoms exists, be sure to perform the following procedure starting from step b.
      • The P position switch blinks when the power switch is turned on (IG) or on (READY) and the shift position is not in P.
      • The power source off automatic P function does not operate.
      • The shift position is not displayed on the meter until a shift change operation is performed.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Press the P position switch and change the shift position to P.
    4. Turn the power switch on (READY).
    5. Depress the brake pedal and operate the shift lever to change the shift position to D.
    6. Check that the P position switch does not blink when the power switch is turned on (IG) or on (READY), and the shift position is not in P.
      NOTE:

      If the P position switch is blinking, be sure to perform steps b. through e. again.
