Installation [10/2020 - 10/2023]: Procedure
- INSTALL RACK AND PINION POWER STEERING GEAR ASSEMBLY
- Install the rack and pinion power steering gear assembly with the 3 bolts and nut.
Torque: 80 N.m (816 kgf/cm, 59 ft.lbf)
- Connect the connector (B) of the motor compartment main wire to the rack and pinion power steering gear assembly.
*A w/ Advanced Park *B w/o Advanced Park *a Torque Wrench Fulcrum Length *b Green Lock Slide - - HINT:
Connect the connector with the lock lever by first inserting the connector (B) as far as it will go, moving the lock lever as shown in the illustration and then pushing in the lock.
- w/ Advanced Park:
- Connect the connector (A), and slide the green lock to lock it as shown in the illustration.
- Attach the 2 clamps.
- w/ Advanced Park:
- Connect the wire harness clamp to the rack and pinion power steering gear assembly with the bolt.
Torque: 9.0 N.m (92 kgf/cm, 80 in.lbf)
- Connect the wire harness clamp to the rack and pinion power steering gear assembly with the bolt.
- w/o Advanced Park:
- Using a SST and union nut wrench, Connect the wire harness clamp to the rack and pinion power steering gear assembly with the nut.
Specified tightening torque
Torque: 10 N.m (102 kgf/cm, 7 ft.lbf)
- SST: 09961-00950
HINT:
- Calculate the torque wrench reading when changing the fulcrum length of the torque wrench.
Refer to PRECAUTION [10/2020 - 11/2021] , or refer to PRECAUTION [11/2021 - 10/2023]
- When using a union nut wrench (fulcrum length of 22 mm (0.866 in.)) + SST (fulcrum length of 150 mm (5.906 in.)) + torque wrench (fulcrum length of 300 mm (11.811 in.)): 6.4 N.m (65 kgf/cm, 57 in.lbf)
- Using a SST and union nut wrench, Connect the wire harness clamp to the rack and pinion power steering gear assembly with the nut.
- Install the rack and pinion power steering gear assembly with the 3 bolts and nut.
- CONNECT TIE ROD ASSEMBLY LH
