Installation [10/2020 - 10/2023]: Procedure

  1. INSTALL RACK AND PINION POWER STEERING GEAR ASSEMBLY 
    1. Install the rack and pinion power steering gear assembly with the 3 bolts and nut.

      Torque: 80 N.m (816 kgf/cm, 59 ft.lbf)

    2. Connect the connector (B) of the motor compartment main wire to the rack and pinion power steering gear assembly.

      *A w/ Advanced Park *B w/o Advanced Park
      *a Torque Wrench Fulcrum Length *b Green Lock
      Slide - -

      HINT: 

      Connect the connector with the lock lever by first inserting the connector (B) as far as it will go, moving the lock lever as shown in the illustration and then pushing in the lock.

    3. w/ Advanced Park:
      1. Connect the connector (A), and slide the green lock to lock it as shown in the illustration.
        NOTE:

        Check that the green lock is securely locked.

        *a Green Lock
    4. Attach the 2 clamps.
    5. w/ Advanced Park:
      1. Connect the wire harness clamp to the rack and pinion power steering gear assembly with the bolt.

        Torque: 9.0 N.m (92 kgf/cm, 80 in.lbf) 

    6. w/o Advanced Park:
      1. Using a SST and union nut wrench, Connect the wire harness clamp to the rack and pinion power steering gear assembly with the nut.

        Specified tightening torque 

        Torque: 10 N.m (102 kgf/cm, 7 ft.lbf) 

        • SST: 09961-00950 

        HINT: 

        • Calculate the torque wrench reading when changing the fulcrum length of the torque wrench.

          Refer to PRECAUTION [10/2020 - 11/2021] , or refer to PRECAUTION [11/2021 - 10/2023]

        • When using a union nut wrench (fulcrum length of 22 mm (0.866 in.)) + SST (fulcrum length of 150 mm (5.906 in.)) + torque wrench (fulcrum length of 300 mm (11.811 in.)): 6.4 N.m (65 kgf/cm, 57 in.lbf)
  2. CONNECT TIE ROD ASSEMBLY LH 
    1. Connect the tie rod assembly LH to the front lower ball joint assembly with the nut.

      Torque: 60 N.m (612 kgf/cm, 44 ft.lbf) 

    2. Install a new clip.
      NOTE:

      Further tighten the nut up to 60° if the holes for the clip are not aligned.

  3. CONNECT TIE ROD ASSEMBLY RH 

    HINT: 

    Perform the same procedure as for the LH side.

  4. CONNECT NO. 2 STEERING INTERMEDIATE SHAFT ASSEMBLY 
    1. Align the matchmarks on the No. 2 steering intermediate shaft assembly with the matchmarks on the rack and pinion power steering gear assembly.

    2. Install the bolt.

      Torque: 35.3 N.m (360 kgf/cm, 26 ft.lbf)

  5. INSTALL FRONT STABILIZER BAR 

    Refer to INSTALLATION [10/2017 - 10/2023]

  6. INSTALL TRANSMISSION OIL COOLER BRACKET 

    Refer to INSTALLATION [10/2017 - ]

  7. INSTALL STRUT BAR BRACKET SUPPORT SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 137

  8. INSTALL FRONT SUSPENSION MEMBER BRACE 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 138

  9. INSTALL NO. 2 ENGINE UNDER COVER ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 139

  10. INSTALL TRANSMISSION UNDER COVER 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 140

  11. INSTALL NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 141

  12. INSTALL FRONT WHEELS 

    Refer to INSTALLATION [10/2017 - 10/2023]

  13. ALIGN FRONT WHEELS FACING STRAIGHT AHEAD 
  14. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE AUXILIARY BATTERY TERMINAL 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

  15. INSTALL LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT MAT SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 13 [10/2020 - 11/2021] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 13 [11/2021 - 10/2023]

  16. INITIALIZATION AFTER RECONNECTING AUXILIARY BATTERY TERMINAL 

    Refer to WORK PROCEDURE [10/2020 - 11/2021] , or refer to WORK PROCEDURE [11/2021 - 10/2022] , or refer to WORK PROCEDURE [10/2022 - ]

    HINT: 

    When disconnecting and reconnecting the auxiliary battery, there is an automatic learning function that completes learning when the respective system is used.

  17. INSPECT AND ADJUST FRONT WHEEL ALIGNMENT 

    Refer to ADJUSTMENT [10/2020 - 10/2023]

  18. ROTATION ANGLE SENSOR INITIALIZATION AND TORQUE SENSOR ZERO POINT CALIBRATION (w/o Advanced Park) 

    Refer to CALIBRATION [10/2020 - 10/2023]
