Removal [10/2017 - 09/2018]: Procedure

  1. PRECAUTION 
    NOTE:
    • The connector for the type A compressor with motor assembly has cooler compressor packing applied as shown in the illustration. Do not remove the cooler compressor packing.

      Cooler Compressor Packing - -
    • If the cooler compressor packing has been peeled off, apply new cooler compressor packing.
  2. AIR SUSPENSION CONTROL PROHIBITED (w/ Air Suspension) 

    Refer to PRECAUTION [10/2017 - ]

  3. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 18

  4. REMOVE TRANSMISSION UNDER COVER 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 19

  5. REMOVE NO. 2 ENGINE UNDER COVER ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 20

  6. REMOVE V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 12

  7. REMOVE RADIATOR COVER PLATE 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1

  8. REMOVE UPPER RADIATOR SUPPORT SEAL 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

  9. REMOVE LOWER RADIATOR AIR DEFLECTOR 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3

  10. RECOVER REFRIGERANT FROM REFRIGERATION SYSTEM 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4

  11. REMOVE SERVICE PLUG GRIP 

    Refer to REMOVAL [10/2017 - 09/2018]

  12. CHECK TERMINAL VOLTAGE 
    1. Remove the connector cover assembly.

      Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 12

    2. Check the terminal voltage.

      Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 13

    3. Install the connector cover assembly.

      Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 15

  13. REMOVE RADIATOR SUPPORT TO CROSSMEMBER BRACE SUB-ASSEMBLY LH 
    1. Remove the 2 bolts and radiator support to crossmember brace sub-assembly LH.

  14. DISCONNECT DISCHARGE HOSE SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the bolt and disconnect the discharge hose sub-assembly from the compressor with motor assembly.

      NOTE:

      Do not apply excessive force to the discharge hose sub-assembly.

    2. Remove the O-ring from the discharge hose sub-assembly.
      NOTE:

      Seal the openings of the disconnected parts using vinyl tape to prevent moisture and foreign matter from entering them.

  15. REMOVE SUCTION HOSE SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the bolt, nut and suction hose sub-assembly from the compressor with motor assembly.

      NOTE:

      Do not apply excessive force to the suction hose sub-assembly.

    2. Remove the 2 O-rings from the suction hose sub-assembly.
      NOTE:

      Seal the openings of the disconnected parts using vinyl tape to prevent moisture and foreign matter from entering them.

  16. REMOVE COMPRESSOR WITH MOTOR ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disconnect the connector (A).

    2. Remove the bolt (A) and disconnect the wiring harness clamp bracket (bolt (A) fastening side).
    3. Remove the bolt (B) and disconnect the wiring harness clamp bracket (bolt (B) fastening side).
    4. Remove the bolt (C) and disconnect the wiring harness clamp bracket (bolt (C) fastening side).

      *a Green-colored Lock

    5. Slide the green-colored lock of the connector (B) as shown in the illustration to release it and disconnect the connector.
      WARNING:

      Make sure to wear insulating gloves.

      NOTE:

      Insulate the disconnected terminals and connector with vinyl tape.

    6. Remove the 2 nuts, bolt (D) and bolt (E).

      HINT: 

      At this point, bolt (E) interferes with the front frame crossmember sub-assembly. Therefore, it cannot be pulled out from the compressor with motor assembly.

    7. Using an E8 "TORX" socket wrench, remove the 2 stud bolts and compressor with motor assembly.

      NOTE:

      Do not drop or subject the parts to any impact.
