Removal [10/2017 - ]: Procedure

  1. REMOVE OUTER MIRROR LH 
    1. Push the upper part of the mirror surface and tilt it.
    2. Apply protective tape as shown in the illustration.

    3. Push down the lower part of the mirror surface and tilt it.

    4. Apply protective tape as shown in the illustration.
    5. Push the upper part of the mirror surface and tilt it.

      Remove in this Direction
      Protective Tape
    6. Using moulding remover D, detach the claw.
    7. Push down the lower part of the mirror surface and tilt it.

      HINT: 

      The claw will reattach if excessive force is applied when pushing down the mirror surface.

      Remove in this Direction
      Protective Tape
    8. Using moulding remover D, detach the claw.
      NOTE:

      Do not forcibly pull on the outer mirror LH as the unit drive may detach, or the mirror surface part may break.

    9. Detach the clamp.

    10. Disconnect the 2 mirror heater connectors.
      NOTE:
      • Do not raise the claw higher than is necessary as it will damage the claw of the terminal.
      • If the claw of the connector is damaged, replace the outer mirror LH with a new one.
      • If there is damage to the wire harness or an open circuit has occurred, replace the outer rear view mirror assembly LH with a new one.
    11. Detach the clamp.

    12. Disconnect the EC mirror connector.
      NOTE:
      • Do not raise the claw higher than is necessary as it will damage the claw of the connector.
      • If the claw of the connector is damaged, replace the outer mirror LH with a new one.
      • If there is damage to the wire harness or an open circuit has occurred, replace the outer rear view mirror assembly LH with a new one.
    13. Detach the clamp.

    14. Disconnect the blind spot monitor indicator connector to remove the outer mirror LH.
      NOTE:
      • Do not raise the claw higher than is necessary as it will damage the claw of the connector.
      • If the claw of the connector is damaged, replace the outer rear view mirror assembly LH with a new one.
      • If there is damage to the wire harness or an open circuit has occurred, replace the outer rear view mirror assembly LH with a new one.
