On-Vehicle Inspection [10/2017 - ]: Procedure

  1. INSPECT STOP LIGHT SWITCH ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disconnect the stop light switch connector.
    2. Measure the resistance and voltage on the wire harness side connector according to the value(s) in the table below.

      (to Stop Light Switch Assembly)

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A3-3 (GND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

      If the result is not as specified, repair or replace the wire harness or connector.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A3-1 (B) - A3-3 (GND) Always 11 to 14 V
      A3-5 (B) - A3-3 (GND) Power switch on (IG)

      If the result is not as specified, repair or replace the wire harness or connector.

    3. Reconnect the stop light switch connector.
    4. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      (Stop Light Switch Assembly)

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      A3-2 (L) - A3-3 (GND) Brake pedal not depressed 0 to 1.5 V
      Brake pedal depressed 11 to 14 V
      A3-4 (L) - A3-3 (GND) Power switch on (IG)
      Brake pedal not depressed      		 11 to 14 V
      Power switch on (IG)
      Brake pedal depressed      		 0 to 1.5 V

      If the result is not as specified, replace the stop light switch assembly.
