DTC B15C5-11: Emergency Call Switch Circuit Short to Ground; DTC B15C5-13: Emergency Call Switch Circuit Open [10/2022 - ]: Procedure

  1. CLEAR DTC 

    Pre-procedure1

    1. Turn the ignition switch to ON and wait for 10 seconds or more.

      Procedure1

    2. Clear the DTCs.

      Body Electrical > Telematics > Clear DTCs 

      Result

      Proceed to
      NEXT

      Post-procedure1

    3. None

    Result: 

    NEXT

  2. CHECK FOR DTC 
    1. Check for DTCs.

      Body Electrical > Telematics > Trouble Codes 

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      DTCs are not output A
      DTCs are output B

    Result: 

    USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK. Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [10/2022 - 10/2023]  , or refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [10/2023 - ]

  3. INSPECT MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY (MANUAL [SOS] SWITCH) 

    Pre-procedure1

    1. Remove the map light assembly.

      Refer to REMOVAL [11/2021 - ]

      Procedure1

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      31 (SIG1) - 32 (GND3) Manual (SOS) switch not pressed 410 to 414 Ω
      31 (SIG1) - 32 (GND3) Manual (SOS) switch pressed 81 to 83 Ω

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

      Post-procedure1

    3. None

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [11/2021 - ]

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (DCM [TELEMATICS TRANSCEIVER] - MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY) 

    Pre-procedure1

    1. Disconnect the G163*1 or G164*2 DCM (telematics transceiver) connector.
      1. *1: w/o Advanced Drive System
      2. *2: w/ Advanced Drive System
    2. Disconnect the N9 map light assembly connector.

      Procedure1

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      W/O ADVANCED DRIVE SYSTEM

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G163-21 (SIG1) - N9-31 (SIG1) Always Below 1 Ω
      G163-3 (SIG-) - N9-32 (GND3) Always Below 1 Ω
      G163-21 (SIG1) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      G163-3 (SIG-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      W/ ADVANCED DRIVE SYSTEM

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G164-21 (SIG1) - N9-31 (SIG1) Always Below 1 Ω
      G164-3 (SIG-) - N9-32 (GND3) Always Below 1 Ω
      G164-21 (SIG1) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      G164-3 (SIG-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    4. None

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

  5. REPLACE DCM (TELEMATICS TRANSCEIVER) 
    1. Replace the DCM (Telematics Transceiver).

      Refer to REMOVAL [10/2022 - 10/2023] , or refer to REMOVAL [10/2023 - ]

      NOTE:
      • The ignition switch must be off.
      • Do not exchange the DCM (Telematics Transceiver) with one from another vehicle.

    PERFORM DCM ACTIVATION. Refer to  DCM ACTIVATION [10/2022 - ]
