DTC B15C1-11: GNSS Antenna Circuit Short to Ground; DTC B15C1-13: GNSS Antenna Circuit Open [10/2020 - 11/2021]: Procedure

  1. CHECK DTC 
    1. Turn the power switch off.
    2. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    3. Turn the power switch on (IG) and wait for 10 seconds or more.
    4. Turn the Techstream on.
    5. Check for DTCs and check that no DTCs are output.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [10/2020 - 10/2022]

      Body Electrical > Telematics > Trouble Codes 

      OK

      No DTCs are output.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK. Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [10/2020 - 11/2021] 

    Result: 

    NG

  2. INSPECT TELEPHONE AND GPS ANTENNA (FOR ROOF SIDE) 
    1. Remove the telephone and GPS antenna (for roof side).

      Refer to REMOVAL [10/2020 - 11/2021]

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      2 - 2a Always 4 to 11 kΩ

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE TELEPHONE AND GPS ANTENNA (ROOF ANTENNA ASSEMBLY). Refer to  REMOVAL [10/2020 - 11/2021] 

    Result: 

    OK

  3. INSPECT TELEPHONE AND GPS ANTENNA CORD (ANTENNA CORD SUB-ASSEMBLY [FLOOR]) 
    1. Disconnect the antenna connector from the telephone and GPS antenna (for roof side).

      (to Wire Harness)
    2. Disconnect the antenna connector from the wire harness.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A-2 - G153-[2] (ANT2) Always Below 1 Ω
      A-2a - G153-[2a] Always Below 1 Ω
      A-2 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE TELEPHONE AND GPS ANTENNA CORD (ANTENNA CORD SUB-ASSEMBLY [FLOOR]). Refer to  REMOVAL [10/2020 - 11/2021]

  4. CHECK VEHICLE TYPE 
    1. Check the vehicle type.

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ANTENNA CORD SUB-ASSEMBLY [FLOOR] - DCM [TELEMATICS TRANSCEIVER]) 
    1. Disconnect the antenna connector from the antenna cord sub-assembly (floor).

      (to Antenna Cord Sub-assembly [Floor])
      *b Front view of wire harness connector
      (to DCM [Telematics Transceiver])
    2. Disconnect the antenna connector from the DCM (telematics transceiver).
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G153-2 (ANT2) - G176-1 (ANT2) Always Below 1 Ω
      G153-[2a] - G176-[1a] Always Below 1 Ω
      G153-2 (ANT2) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  6. CHECK TELEPHONE AND GPS ANTENNA (FOR ROOF SIDE) 
    1. Replace the telephone and GPS antenna (for roof side) with a known good one.

      Refer to REMOVAL [10/2020 - 11/2021]

    2. Clear the DTCs.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [10/2020 - 10/2022]

      Body Electrical > Telematics > Clear DTCs 

    3. Recheck for DTCs and check that no DTCs are output.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [10/2020 - 10/2022]

      Body Electrical > Telematics > Trouble Codes 

      OK

      No DTCs are output.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    END (TELEPHONE AND GPS ANTENNA [FOR ROOF SIDE] IS DEFECTIVE) 

    Result:

  7. REPLACE DCM (TELEMATICS TRANSCEIVER) 
    1. Replace the DCM (Telematics Transceiver).

      Refer to REMOVAL [10/2020 - 11/2021]

      NOTE:
      • The power switch must be off.
      • Do not exchange the DCM (Telematics Transceiver) with one from another vehicle.

      Result

      Proceed to
      NEXT

    Result:

    PERFORM DCM ACTIVATION. Refer to  DCM ACTIVATION [10/2020 - 10/2022] 

  8. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ANTENNA CORD SUB-ASSEMBLY [FLOOR] - ANTENNA DIVIDER) 
    1. Disconnect the antenna connector from the antenna cord sub-assembly (Floor).

      (to Antenna Divider)
    2. Disconnect the antenna connector from the antenna divider.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G153-2 (ANT2) - C-5 Always Below 1 Ω
      G153-[2a] - C-5a Always Below 1 Ω
      G153-2 (ANT2) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

  9. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ANTENNA DIVIDER - DCM [TELEMATICS TRANSCEIVER]) 
    1. Disconnect the antenna connector from the antenna divider.

    2. Disconnect the antenna connector from the DCM (telematics transceiver).
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      C-6 - G176-1 (ANT2) Always Below 1 Ω
      C-6a - G176-[1a] Always Below 1 Ω
      C-6 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

  10. INSPECT ANTENNA DIVIDER 
    1. Remove the antenna divider.

      Refer to REMOVAL [10/2020 - 11/2021]

      (Antenna Divider)
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      5 - 6 Always Below 1 Ω
      5a - 6a Always Below 1 Ω
      5 - 5a Always 10 kΩ or higher
      6 - 6a Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE ANTENNA DIVIDER. Refer to  REMOVAL [10/2020 - 11/2021] 

    Result: 

    OK

  11. CHECK TELEPHONE AND GPS ANTENNA (FOR ROOF SIDE) 
    1. Replace the telephone and GPS antenna (for roof side) with a known good one.

      Refer to REMOVAL [10/2020 - 11/2021]

    2. Clear the DTCs.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [10/2020 - 10/2022]

      Body Electrical > Telematics > Clear DTCs 

    3. Recheck for DTCs and check that no DTCs are output.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [10/2020 - 10/2022]

  12. CHECK ANTENNA DIVIDER 
    1. Replace the antenna divider with a known good one.

      Refer to REMOVAL [10/2020 - 11/2021]

    2. Clear the DTCs.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [10/2020 - 10/2022]

      Body Electrical > Telematics > Clear DTCs 

    3. Recheck for DTCs and check that no DTCs are output.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [10/2020 - 10/2022]

      Body Electrical > Telematics > Trouble Codes 

      OK

      No DTCs are output.

      Result

      Proceed to

      NG

    Result:

  13. REPLACE DCM (TELEMATICS TRANSCEIVER) 
    1. Replace the DCM (Telematics Transceiver).

      Refer to REMOVAL [10/2020 - 11/2021]

      NOTE:
      • The power switch must be off.
      • Do not exchange the DCM (Telematics Transceiver) with one from another vehicle.

      Result

      Proceed to

    Result:
