DTC B156D: Blu-ray Disc Player Disconnected [10/2017 - 10/2022]: Procedure

  1. CLEAR DTC 
    1. Clear the DTCs.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [10/2017 - 10/2022]

      Body Electrical > Navigation System > Clear DTCs 

      Result

      Proceed to
      NEXT

    Result: 

    NEXT

  2. CHECK FOR DTC 
    1. Check for DTCs.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [10/2017 - 10/2022]

      Body Electrical > Navigation System > Trouble Codes 

      OK

      DTC B156D is not output.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK. Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [10/2017 - 09/2018]  , or refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [09/2018 - 09/2019]  , or refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [09/2019 - 10/2020]  , or refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [10/2020 - 11/2021]  , or refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [11/2021 - 10/2022]

  3. CHECK CONNECTION OF CONNECTOR 
    1. Turn the power switch off.
    2. Check that the connectors are properly connected to the multi-display controller sub-assembly and disc player assembly.

      OK

      Connectors are properly connected.

      The connectors are not properly connected B

    CONNECT CONNECTORS PROPERLY

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (DISC PLAYER ASSEMBLY - BATTERY AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the L140 disc player assembly connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      L140-13 (GND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      L140-8 (+B) - Body ground Power switch off 11 to 14 V
      L140-7 (ACC) - Body ground Power switch on (ACC) 11 to 14 V

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MULTI-DISPLAY CONTROLLER SUB-ASSEMBLY - DISC PLAYER ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the L137 multi-display controller sub-assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the L140 disc player assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      L137-14 (TX3+) - L140-9 (TX+) Always Below 1 Ω
      L137-15 (TX3-) - L140-10 (TX-) Always Below 1 Ω
      L137-14 (TX3+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      L137-15 (TX3-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result:

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  6. REPLACE DISC PLAYER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Replace the disc player assembly with a new or known good one.

      Refer to REMOVAL [10/2017 - ]

  7. CLEAR DTC 
    1. Clear the DTCs.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [10/2017 - 10/2022]

  8. CHECK FOR DTC
