DTC C168E-87: Side Camera (Left) Image Signal Missing Message [10/2022 - 10/2023]: Procedure

  1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (PARKING ASSIST ECU - OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY LH) 

    Pre-procedure1

    1. Disconnect the L260 parking assist ECU connector.
    2. Disconnect the H45 outer rear view mirror assembly LH connector.

      Procedure1

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      L260-1 (LCB+) - H45-2 (RCB+) Always Below 1 Ω
      L260-3 (LCV+) - H45-4 (RCV+) Always Below 1 Ω
      L260-4 (LCV-) - H45-3 (RCV-) Always Below 1 Ω
      L260-2 (LGND) - H45-1 (RGND) Always Below 1 Ω
      L260-5 (SGND) - H45-5 (SGND) Always Below 1 Ω
      L260-1 (LCB+) or H45-2 (RCB+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      L260-3 (LCV+) or H45-4 (RCV+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      L260-4 (LCV-) or H45-3 (RCV-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      L260-2 (LGND) or H45-1 (RGND) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      L260-5 (SGND) or H45-5 (SGND) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      NG

      Post-procedure1

    4. None

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  2. CHECK PARKING ASSIST ECU (LCV-, LGND) 

    Pre-procedure1

    1. Disconnect the L260 parking assist ECU connector.

      *a Component without harness connected
      (Parking Assist ECU)

      Procedure1

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      2 (LGND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      4 (LCV-) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

      Post-procedure1

    3. None

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE PARKING ASSIST ECU. Refer to  REMOVAL [10/2022 - 10/2023] 

    Result: 

    OK

  3. CHECK PARKING ASSIST ECU (RCB+, RGND) 

    Pre-procedure1

    1. Disconnect the H45 outer rear view mirror assembly LH connector.

      Procedure1

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      H45-1 (RGND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      H45-2 (RCB+) - H45-1 (RGND) Ignition switch ON 7.5 to 8.5 V
      H45-2 (RCB+) - H45-1 (RGND) Ignition switch off Below 1 V

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG
    4. None

      Post-procedure1

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE PARKING ASSIST ECU. Refer to  REMOVAL [10/2022 - 10/2023]

  4. INSPECT OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY LH 
    1. Disconnect the outer rear view mirror assembly LH connector.

      *a Front view of wire harness connector
      (to Side Television Camera Assembly LH)
      *b Component without harness connected
      (Outer Rear View Mirror Assembly LH)
    2. Disconnect the side television camera assembly LH connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      2 (RCB+) - A-4 (CB+) Always Below 1 Ω
      4 (RCV+) - A-3 (GVI+) Always Below 1 Ω
      3 (RCV-) - A-1 (GVI-) Always Below 1 Ω
      1 (RGND) - A-2 (GND) Always Below 1 Ω
      5 (SGND) - A-5 (SGND) Always Below 1 Ω
      2 (RCB+) or A-4 (CB+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      4 (RCV+) or A-3 (GVI+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      3 (RCV-) or A-1 (GVI-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      1 (RGND) or A-2 (GND) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      5 (SGND) or A-5 (SGND) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

    REPLACE OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY LH. Refer to  REMOVAL [11/2021 - 10/2023]
