No. 1 Clearance Warning Buzzer Circuit [10/2020 - 11/2021]: Procedure

  1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Clearance Warning / Active Test.
    5. Check that the buzzer operates by performing the Active Test.

      Body Electrical > Clearance Warning > Active Test 

      Tester Display Measurement Item Control Range Diagnostic Note
      Front Buzzer No. 1 clearance warning buzzer OFF or ON Confirm that the vehicle is stopped and the power switch is on (IG)

      Body Electrical > Clearance Warning > Active Test

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (CLEARANCE WARNING ECU ASSEMBLY - NO. 1 CLEARANCE WARNING BUZZER) 
    1. Disconnect the L18 clearance warning ECU assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the G38 No. 1 clearance warning buzzer connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      L18-9 (CBZ) - G38-1 Always Below 1 Ω
      L18-8 (EF) - G38-2 Always Below 1 Ω
      L18-9 (CBZ) or G38-1 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      L18-8 (EF) or G38-2 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

  3. REPLACE NO. 1 CLEARANCE WARNING BUZZER 
    1. Replace the No. 1 clearance warning buzzer with a new or known good one.

      Refer to REMOVAL [10/2020 - 11/2021]

  4. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Clearance Warning / Active Test.
    5. Check that the buzzer operates by performing the Active Test.

      Body Electrical > Clearance Warning > Active Test

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (NO. 1 CLEARANCE WARNING BUZZER - BATTERY) 
    1. Disconnect the G38 No. 1 clearance warning buzzer connector.
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      G38-1 - Body ground Power switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V
      G38-1 - Body ground Power switch off Below 1 V

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

  6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ADVANCED DRIVE ECU ASSEMBLY - NO. 1 CLEARANCE WARNING BUZZER) 
    1. Disconnect the L213 advanced drive ECU assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the G38 No. 1 clearance warning buzzer connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G38-2 - L213-19 (BZC2) Always Below 1 Ω
      G38-2 or L213-19 (BZC2) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

  7. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ADVANCED DRIVE ECU ASSEMBLY - CLEARANCE WARNING ECU ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the L213 advanced drive ECU assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the L18 clearance warning ECU assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      L213-10 (CBZR) - L18-8 (EF) Always Below 1 Ω
      L213-10 (CBZR) or L18-8 (EF) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
