DTC C1684: Side Camera Current Malfunction [09/2019 - 10/2020]: Procedure

  1. CHECK FOR DTC 
    1. Clear the DTCs.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [10/2017 - 10/2020]

      Chassis > Panoramic View Monitor > Clear DTCs 

    2. Check for DTCs.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [10/2017 - 10/2020]

      Chassis > Panoramic View Monitor > Trouble Codes 

      OK

      DTC C1684 is not output.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK. Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [09/2019 - 10/2020] 

    Result: 

    NG

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (PARKING ASSIST ECU - OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY RH) 
    1. Disconnect the G95 parking assist ECU connector.
    2. Disconnect the H42 outer rear view mirror assembly RH connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G95-40 (RCB+) - H42-2 (RCB+) Always Below 1 Ω
      G95-17 (RGND) - H42-1 (RGND) Always Below 1 Ω
      G95-40 (RCB+) or H42-2 (RCB+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      G95-17 (RGND) or H42-1 (RGND) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
    4. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      G95-40 (RCB+) or H42-2 (RCB+) - Body ground Power switch on (IG) Below 1 V
      G95-17 (RGND) or H42-1 (RGND) - Body ground Power switch on (IG) Below 1 V

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  3. CHECK PARKING ASSIST ECU 
    1. Disconnect the outer rear view mirror assembly RH connector.

      *a Component with harness connected
      (Parking Assist ECU)
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G95-17 (RGND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      G95-40 (RCB+) - G95-17 (RGND) Power switch on (IG) 5.5 to 7.05 V
      G95-40 (RCB+) - G95-17 (RGND) Power switch off Below 1 V

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result:

    REPLACE PARKING ASSIST ECU. Refer to  REMOVAL [10/2017 - 10/2020]

  4. INSPECT OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY RH 
    1. Disconnect the outer rear view mirror assembly RH connector.

      *a Component without harness connected
      (to Side Television Camera Assembly RH)
      *b Component without harness connected
      (to Outer Rear View Mirror Assembly RH)
    2. Disconnect the side television camera assembly RH connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      B-1 (SCB+) - 2 (RCB+) Always Below 1 Ω
      B-5 (SGND) - 1 (RGND) Always Below 1 Ω
      B-1 (SCB+) or 2 (RCB+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      B-5 (SGND) or 1 (RGND) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY RH. Refer to  REMOVAL [10/2017 - 10/2020]

  5. CHECK SIDE TELEVISION CAMERA ASSEMBLY RH 
    1. Replace the side television camera assembly RH with a new or normally functioning one.

      Refer to REMOVAL [10/2017 - 10/2020]

  6. CHECK FOR DTC 
    1. Clear the DTCs.
