Steering Pad Switch Circuit [12/2017 - 10/2022]: Procedure

  1. INSPECT STEERING PAD SWITCH ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the steering pad switch assembly.

      Refer to REMOVAL [12/2017 - 09/2018] , or refer to REMOVAL [09/2018 - 10/2020] , or refer to REMOVAL [10/2020 - 10/2022]

    2. Inspect the steering pad switch assembly.

      Refer to INSPECTION [12/2017 - 10/2023]

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE STEERING PAD SWITCH ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [12/2017 - 09/2018]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [09/2018 - 10/2020]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [10/2020 - 10/2022] 

    Result: 

    OK

  2. INSPECT SPIRAL WITH SENSOR CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the spiral with sensor cable sub-assembly.

      Refer to REMOVAL [12/2017 - 09/2018] , or refer to REMOVAL [09/2018 - 10/2020] , or refer to REMOVAL [10/2020 - 10/2022]

    2. Inspect the spiral with sensor cable sub-assembly.

      Refer to INSPECTION [12/2017 - ]

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE SPIRAL CABLE WITH SENSOR SUB-ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [12/2017 - 09/2018]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [09/2018 - 10/2020]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [10/2020 - 10/2022] 

    Result: 

    OK

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SPIRAL WITH SENSOR CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY - COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the G34 combination meter assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the G27 spiral with sensor cable sub-assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G34-2 (MSM+) - G27-11 (+DP) Always Below 1 Ω
      G34-3 (MSTI) - G27-10 (+DP2) Always Below 1 Ω
      G34-2 (MSM+) - Other terminals and body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      G34-3 (MSTI) - Other terminals and body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      G27-4 (EAU) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

      Result

      Result Proceed to

      NG (Spiral with sensor cable sub-assembly - combination meter assembly) B
      NG (Spiral with sensor cable sub-assembly - body ground) C

    Result: 

    REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [12/2017 - 10/2020]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [10/2020 - 10/2023] 

    Result: 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SPIRAL WITH SENSOR CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY - RADIO RECEIVER ASSEMBLY AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the G52 radio receiver assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the G27 spiral with sensor cable sub-assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G52-24 (SWG) - G27-4 (EAU) Always Below 1 Ω
      G52-1 (GND1) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE RADIO RECEIVER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [12/2017 - 10/2022] 

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
