DTC C1290: Abnormal Zero Point of Steering Angle Sensor [09/2018 - ]: Procedure
- PERFORM ZERO POINT CALIBRATION OF YAW RATE SENSOR
- Perform zero point calibration of the yaw rate sensor.
Refer to CALIBRATION [03/2017 - 05/2023] , or refer to CALIBRATION [05/2023 - ]
NOTE:Make sure to perform initialization and calibration of the linear solenoid valve after performing "Reset Memory" as the data stored during linear solenoid valve offset learning is cleared.

Tester Display Reset Memory Chassis > ABS/VSC/TRAC > Utility
Tester Display Test Mode HINT:
- When the stored zero point of the yaw rate sensor is cleared, steering sensor zero point will also be cleared.
- If the zero point and output value of the yaw rate sensor and the output value of the speed sensors are not normal, steering sensor zero point cannot be acquired normally even if the vehicle is driven straight ahead at 35 km/h (22 mph) or more.

See step 2
- Perform zero point calibration of the yaw rate sensor.
- CHECK STEERING SENSOR ZERO POINT CALIBRATION
- Turn the engine switch off.
- Start the engine.
- Drive the vehicle straight ahead at 35 km/h (22 mph) or more for at least 5 seconds.
- Check that the steering wheel is centered correctly while driving straight ahead.
HINT:
If front wheel alignment and steering position are adjusted as a result of the steering wheel being off-center, acquire yaw rate sensor zero point again after the adjustments are completed.
OK
The steering wheel is centered correctly.

- RECONFIRM DTC
- Turn the engine switch off.
- Clear the DTCs.
Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [09/2018 - ]
Chassis > ABS/VSC/TRAC > Clear DTCs
- Turn the engine switch off.
- Start the engine.
- Drive the vehicle at a speed of 35 km/h (22 mph) or more and turn the steering wheel to the right and left.
- Check if the same DTC is output.
Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [09/2018 - ]
